We had a great time staying at this relatively new hotel located near Trevi Fountain & the Spanish Steps. The rooms were spacious and modern, and very secure (four locked doors separate you from the streets of Rome). The best part was the included breakfast, which is brought to your room. We loved having breakfast on our very own patio that was attached to the room. I did want to share a few important points that will make your check-in experience go a little more smoothly than ours did. Firstly, the hotel is located on a sort of not-so-nice street – there are a couple of strip clubs (Chica-Chica-Boom) and a sex shop. Yuck. The pictures on the hotel website were so nice, I totally did not expect it to be located on a street like this. Secondly, there is no sign marking the hotel’s location. Once you find the address, look for “Alex Inn” listed on the call box next to a dozen other businesses, and press the button (may have to wait a bit for the receptionist to answer). Once they buzz you in, you have to enter another door, and be sure to take the elevator up to the top floor (walking up 6 flights of stairs with all our luggage after a 12 hour train ride was not very fun). Once you get out of the elevator, walk up one more flight of stairs to the top and the main door of the hotel will be there. You can check out the attached pictures showing the street & the call box. Another thing to note is that not all the staff members speak English, but we got by fine with my very limited Italian and hand signals. Overall, it was a very nice stay and pretty good value at ~130 euros a night. I wholeheartedly recommend it, especially if you are forewarned about the above idiosyncracies of the hotel’s location.
