“don't go out of your way”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We were very disappointed with this place. The food was at best average and the service was very bad. There were 4 of us and we waited over 30 minutes for the first and main course to be served. The Japanese tour group next to us seemed to be the main game and their meal went very smoothly! We also has to put up with their band playing ALL night. Foolishly we gave a small tip as it was our last night in Italy and the man at the cash register said nothing at all! If this is a typical Italian Trattoria, they need to lift their game! don't go out of your way.

“Well-known but didn't really like”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

This place is very famous, as evidenced by the celebrity photos on the wall. But I have eaten in many restaurants in Italy and I felt the food was average. The antipasti platter with meats was good. Our carne platter, veal, came out looking very plain. It was simply pieces of meat scattered on a large plate. When the pasta was brought out, it looked as if it had been sitting for a while.

While in Rome we ate here and at Leon, and we ended up going to Leon for dinner for the rest of the trip.

“The best local restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

I almost hate to give this gem away. For those of you who know how to pick a good restaurant: 100% full of locals every night, this is it. We never eat at the same place twice. We ate here three times. Good, simple and off the beaten track. Excellent value.

“Roman food for Romans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

A way out of the center but well worth the trip. This is a true neighborhood joint, you will be the only tourists. Our bartender on Via Veneto sent us here to get a taste of proper food as Romans eat it and while it was 10-15 minutes from the nearest subway, excellent. Expect it to be packed on weekends.

“Looks like a true Italian place. Good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

The restaurant was full if Italians, which is normally a good sign. Very reasonable prices.
Good variety of dishes and deserts.

The interiour is pretty simple. We sat outside. Don't expect any special environment. But it was OK as we were looking for a true regular Italian place.

Two pasta that we had were excellent. Very fresh and tasty. We also took vegetables, which were so-so.
For a desert I took Panacota. That was also very average. As if it was bought at the shop.

So, to sum up. Good true Italian (simple) environment, reasonable prices, terrific pastas, average deserts. 4/5 from me.

I will come here tomorrow too :)
