We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this 3 star hotel and were not disappointed. Our room, though not large, was very clean. The bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower was also very clean with towels changed daily. The only minor criticism was that there was no mirror in the bedroom area. The windows were double glazed with the addition of very effective shutters and curtains which kept out any noise and light. The staff were generally helpful and friendly.
This is a well located hotel, only five minutes walk from the Termini Metro/bus station – manageable even with a bag and suitcase. We used the Terravision Ciampino airport to Rome transfer bus which stops at Termini – a good bet and only 8 Euro return.
Although we used the Metro for getting to some of the sights it doesn’t generally cater for the main sights. From the hotel my suggestion would be to walk 5 minutes to Via 20 Settembre and catch the number 492 bus ( it goes from the central reservation in the road). This bus takes you very near the Pantheon and Ponte Umberto areas – a far better option than using the depressing, crowded, graffiti ridden sights of the Metro.
There are several Trattoria/Pizzeria along from the Crosti including one recommended by the hotel. However, we ate on three occasions at Trattoria Pizzeria Andrea, a traditional trattoria – great food and atmosphere. It was full each night whilst others were not. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
