The B&B is situated very close to the Vatican and has great access to Pizzaeria's and many restaurants. It's literally only 2 blocks away from the Metro, so easy to get the train station, and other sights. The only tricky thing was finding the B&B. The signs aren't apparent. There are no signs on the building, once you enter, you first have to go to the right, and take the lift up to the 5th floor. We took the one on the left and had to bother other people who lived in the building because we weren't sure exactly where to go. The breakfast itself was ok, but relatively to other bed and breakfasts it was lacking a little. Given that the food is accessible 24hr, I wasn't sure how fresh it was. There is no "breakfast sit down area" but your room is very nice because they provide a table where you can have your breakfast. If you want to go for location and value and decent rooms - this is your place!

It was my first time at a B&B and now I know how it´s good to stay in one! This B&B was suggested by a Italian friend of mine. It ´s very well located, quite close to Vatican (which is around 200 meters away from the the B&B). The B&B hosts only 3 rooms, all of them has their own identity. I stayed at "La Dolce Vita" room, which is very spacious and confortable. The B&B keeps a 24-hour breakfast buffet at the reception desk, so you can get anything to eat as often as you want. There is a small, useful kitchen if you need one, and also free internet access at the reception. There are plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood as well gelatto places. The B&B is easly reached by subway, which is only 2 or 3 blocks away from it. Due to a powerfull window that keeps noise outside the room, it´s very hard to hear any noise from the streets.

A great place to stay, Michele the host was very welcoming, after making us an expresso, and gave us information of where to eat (where the locals go!) and loads of info on the city. Breakfast is a buffet of pastries, yogurt and fruit as well well as delicious coffee which you can help your-self to at any time. Spotless and cozy rooms which have great views. Felt very homely and relaxed.

Great Location just 50m Vatican wall, all rooms are on the 5th floor, but there is a lift and stairs. Our party stayed in two of the three rooms which the Ancient Romance had to offer. They have a safe, a hair dryer and were stylishly decorated.
The minibar was stocked with reasonably priced drinks (70cl bottle of white or red wine 6 Euros) Breakfast is a continental buffet style which you eat in your room. Michele, the owner is very helpful giving us a map and marking on it places of interest and eateries etc.
The tube is just a couple of minutes walk down the road, it will get you most places in Rome and the buses stop just over the road. Booked through Venere, it's the second time booking through them and a good service both times.
Overall it felt like a home from home yet just on the Vaticans doorstep.
On our next visit to rome we will stay in Michele's place.

  • Liked — Location
  • Disliked — shower heated tank was a little small but if your not in it for a sauna it's good enough!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Fellini room at Ancient Romance for 2 nights in Rome. It is classy and delightful with a fantastic view of Rome from our window. The location is perfect for exploring the Vatican. The owner Michele is very helpful and trustworthy. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed our stay.
