Arrived in Rome by train from airport. Got fleeced by un-metered taxi (paid 35 Euro, should be approx 12 Euro) from train Terminii to B&B. So make sure you always use metered taxi in Rome. Also use Metro (underground) located a couple of blocks away and get a 24 hour ticket, its cheap.
Rooms are on 5th floor but great old style lift got us to our floor. Michael (the young owner) welcomed us and showed us our rooms. Michael was fantastic and as this is his small business he should do well.
Room was lovely, and air-conditioned, which is a must in Rome in the summer. Great variety in the self serve continental breakfast which you eat in your room. Free internet access.
300 metres (yards) to front door of St Peters, same to Vatican Museum (which includes Sistine Chapel). Really good and very reasonable restaurant around the corner toward Vatican Museum. Supermarkets and laundromat within a few hundred metres (next city block).
If visting St Peters or Vatican Museum, go as early as possible as long queues otherwise. Don't forget Vatican tombs underneath St Peters and a walk up to the Cupolla (or Dome) of St Peters. (over 500 steps or lift for 200 steps and 300 walk - but if you take it easy, not a problem). The view from the dome if unblievable.
