“A classic from Rome for food lovers.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We went to eat as much as we can as always in il Orso. The antipasti it keep coming like crazy and the quality is simply excellent. I loved the atmosphere and the second dishes. The presentation of the pasta dishes is outstanding and quite succulent. Great prices too.

“Must try - steak with green peppercorn sauce”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This was a great place. We sat outside and it was on a back road that had very low traffic. Service was good too.

“Great Food - Lots of Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

We had a great time here. We had a party of nine Americans - a friend told us the food here was very good and very reasonably priced - he was right. We ordered antipasti - planning to have that as a dinner. They brought out dozens of never ending plates of antipasti. They were all very good and a nice assortment - from marinated peppers, buffalo mozzarella, meatballs, chicory pie, prociutto, cabbage, and tons more - all good. We had many bottles of reasonably priced Sicilian wine and had a great time. A few of our group wanted a little more - two ordered some pasta - and they brought enough for everyone to share, as well as some wonderful grilled calamari. We finished with an assortment of desserts that we shared. They brought us grappa and digistivos 9on the house) as well as some roasted cheastnuts! Great service, nice comfortable atmosphere on a cute side alley way, close to the river. I didnt buy - but i heard the antipasti was EU 25 a head - as a meal the way we did it. I love the idea of not ordering and just having the restaurant bring you food. You could never find that in the US - and it really made us feel unique and very local.

“You'll want to cry "basta"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012

the antipasti kept coming almost as soon as we sat down - olives, mozzerella, grilled peppers, eggplant, etc. Almost too much to eat, although we did order main dishes as well. Crowded, but good service. Not fast food - don't come here if you're in a hurry.

“Not Good!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Reading the reviews, I feel like we were at a different restaurant. The food was terrible, we ordered beef and it was so tough we could not chew it. The service was indifferent, but the worst was the wine pour. We each ordered a glass of fairly expensive wine and the amount poured into our two glasses would not equal one glass in a normal place. My husband mentioned it to the waiter and he tried to say it was the size of the glass. Well, we order expensive wine all the time and know how much should be poured no matter how large the glass is. This place felt like a total ripoff.
