“Modern nice trattoria”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Modern trattoria with indoor and outdoor drinking and dining. Clearly well loved by the locals. Excellent atmosphere, very nice food, friendly helpful staff. Good wine list. Also had live music the night we went. Buffet was only OK

“Tati' Al 28: Atrocious service--ridiculous attitude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

This place pretends to be a "foodie" destination, and is even written up in a couple of guidebooks as a good spot to go. The food was nothing to write home about at all--it was ok, but nothing special--and the service was beyond high attitude, which is unusual in Rome, where I find most people are quite happy to speak English.

We were visiting from Canada and were treated very poorly by the snooty staff. It had nothing to do with the way we were dressed, because we looked fine and are professional. It was all about the fact that we did not speak Italian.

We asked for our check TWICE, were even acknowledged by the waitress who said she would bring it, and after 20 minutes of waiting stood up to leave. Still ignored.

When we finally called over the waitress to tell her we really had to go, she started muttering in Italian, what I can only imagine were less than complimentary comments. We had lingered over our lunch, so were not in a particular hurry...until it came time to finally get the check. Was ridiculous. When she finally brought it, she started apologizing in the most insincere tone that we were REALLY offended. We really should have dined and dashed--that's how awful the service was in this pretentious joint. While we were there, someone apparently did do that, and we can only imagine it was because they got tired of waiting for the bill.

Oh well....too bad for our waitress: We are very good tippers and would have given her a very generous gratuity had she not been so appallingly unprofessional.

The whole staff on today should be fired. A discredit to Gusto.

TOURISTS: DO NOT GO HERE. TERRIBLE. YOU CAN DO WAY, WAY BETTER IN ROME! Spend more if you have to; not worth cheaping out on this horrid place.

“Trust the bad reviews - they are not honnest people.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

I went to Gusto with 10 roman friends. The service was bad. Waiters are rude and not well organized. We came on Sunday for brunch. The buffet is uninteresting and of poor quality. The concept for Sunday brunch is that you have a card and they weigh your food. Up to 500 grams cost 15€ and every extra 100 grams cost 2,50€. Now be very careful. As this restaurant cheats when they weigh the food. Ask the person weighing to check the weight of the plate empty. In theory it should be ZERO grams. However when we did the test the plate weight 88 grams... Doesn't seem like much but multiply this by the number of customers and realize how much they are stealing. Conclusion: poor service, poor quality food and not honnest people... I will never go again and will never recommend this place.

“Crappy service !”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Hi guys !

Pizzas were good but service .... horrible. Even in France is better.
One hour to order a pizza with a beer , then another hour to pay ! Just incredible! I've got Time on week end but here it was definitely lousy!
