I arrived in Rome with no hotel reservation and I wasn't able to find any hotel with rooms available, so, first I was pleased to find this for 150 euros per night.

The cab driver had trouble to find the hotel, so I would recommend to look the doors between the 3 cafe's, one of them called Brasil Cafe.

First night, they gave us a terrible room, on top floor, with no window, just a weird roof window, that I wasn't able to close and so I wasn't able to sleep because of the annoying street noise. The bathroom was disguting, it seemed that it has not been clean after the another guest checked out, and it was impossible to not wet all bathroom floor, as the shower was not working.

Then, I've asked to change room and the deskman was really rude. So rude I decided to not stay there anymore, but as the check out time was gone, I had to stay another night. After all, he gave us another room, really better than the other, and the double window was amazing, no sound from the street.

Despite the second room, it was not worthy the price I've payed for it, specially because of the first night and the rudeness deskman I've ever seen.

Because i booked this hotel as a myster hotel on latsminute and when i found out id booked hotel piazza venezia.I groaned withd issapointment and panicked when i read the reviews below.

So heres a tip: the hotel door is situated between ttwo cafes. there is a sign. Dont go expecting a massive doorway. Luckily by cab driver pointed it out or i could have got lost in the bustle of the street and missed it too.

Friendly helpful staff, small but clean and modern reception. The room was clean and the view looked out at Piazza Venezia so was very happy about that! So it wasnt The Ritz, but I hadnt paid for a super swanky hotel. It did what i wanted - a rom to sleep and shower in. A more expensive room wouldhave been wasteful because I was out exploring the city!

And I need not go far. The Collesium,. the forum and ruins, the trevi fountain...its on your doorstep. The location, for the price you pay, is worth it for that alone.

I did have only one issue -one being there was a bidet type flush handle on the wall which you had to lean over so you didnt push it and get a wet bum before you were finished! the toiet was slightly cramped and i could see larger or older people having anissue with that.

The shower was hot and worked. teh bed was comfy. the mini bar was stocked. rome was on our doorstep. the staff were more than happy to help. iall in all, a very pleasnt experience

My husband and I were in Rome for the Marathon in March 2009. I found and booked this hotel after price comparing and reading reviews on here and elsewhere. The hotel is/was fairly difficult to find the first time. It's tucked between a couple cafes and you can walk right past it very easily... as we did the first time.

The hotel is pretty much bare bones and the photos on its website are NOT representative of what the rooms truly look like. There is a reception desk, elevator, room with a TEENY, TINY bathroom and shower (more about this later) and bed so close to the wall that my husband had to walk sideways to get from his side of the bed over to the bathroom, and that's about it. But really, when you're in Rome, you're not really going to spend all that much time in your room, so it was okay for us.

The bathroom, in particular, the shower. Oh my gosh. For the Americans out there, think of your bathtub at home... long and fairly wide. Now, think of splitting that into thirds lengthwise and one of those thirds is the shower at this hotel. There's no shower curtain, and you can't hang the shower head up, lest get water all over the vanity, so you'd literally have to squat down, get yourself wet, stand up and soap up, and squat back down to rinse off. I have to say, it was the worst shower I've ever taken, and I had to do it three days in a row. And if you wanted to take a bath (say, after a marathon), there was no way for it to happen... the tub is just way, way too short. No thanks!!

The pros of the hotel are of course its location. You're so close to a lot of the sites and it's really in a prime place. If you're looking for a hotel to just chill in your room (and why would you do this in Rome?!), this hotel is not for you. If you want to get out and explore, as long as you can overlook the shower issue, this hotel might be right for you.

We stayed in Hotel Piazza Venezia for one night. The hotel wasn't the easiest to find, we were at least expecting a sign on the outside. It is small, cramped & the toilet had a very distinctive aroma! On the plus side, the location is excellent.The colleseum is very close,as well as all the other attraction. The large selection of bars/restaurants in the area made up for the lack of facilites in the hotel. Over all, it's an OK hotel provided you are out & about all day & not looking for any of the usual hotel facilites, i.e. bar/restaurant etc. Location is great though.
