We stayed in close to 20 different hotels during our European adventure and this was close to being the best of them.
It's more of a serviced apartment than a hotel, but it includes a breakfast (ordered the night before and served in your room) and a 24-hour concierge. The best thing about Palazzetto degli Artisti is the staff, they are really warm, helpful and attentive. On arrival there was a problem with our online reservation (we had our young daughter with us and she hadn't shown up on the booking) but... no problem, they just upgraded us to a larger suite. Giussiepi the doorman was a character and always asking if we needed something - and he wouldn't even take a tip.
The rooms themselves are recently upgraded, very clean and quite spacious. There's a mini bar and snack bar (at standard hotel prices, mind you) and even a washing machine, though we didn't use it. The location of the hotel is great, a very short walk to the Colloseum, Palatine Hill and Imperial Forum, great for history lovers like us. There are a string of wonderful eateries along the same street too, an Irish pub next door, some good gelati places and tourist shops literally seconds away.
If there is a problem it's that the Suites are a little hard to find initially, but don't let that put you off. If I was going to Rome again, I would definitely try here first.
