We stayed at this hotel for a few nights of our honeymoon. We thought the location was excellent and we walked everywhere during the day and sometimes got taxis to further away locations by night. There is a really cool bar/ bistro on the street opposite and over. The guy on reception was really helpful and pleasant. The girls in the rooftop area were rude and unfriendly. The food was hideously bad, even the coffee!!! Still, they only serve breakfast so we only made the mistake of going there once. It's a shame there isn't a bar up there cause it would have been nice to relax there for a while during the day or evening. The room was very clean and funky but small. Still it was ideal for us as we weren't interested in stayin in our room all the time. I would highly recommend this hotel but to young people reallly - hope I don't offend but with small rooms and no dining facilities I think it mightn't suit the older traveller.

Booked this hotel for my daughter and me as it was located so closely to St Peter's. Were a little apprehensive regarding the negative comments viewed on here but, decided that the location and price couldn't be beaten. It was absolutely delightful. The staff could not have been more helpful, courteous and absolutely willing to do all they could to make our stay an enjoyable one. There were signs of damage to the bath panel and pedal bin in the bathroom. However, this just highlights the lack of care some guests show to their surroundings and must be a cause of frustration to the management of the hotel having gone to such lengths to provide excellent, value to money facilities. Am also at a loss as to understand the criticism regarding the breakfast. It was more than ample and served in a beautiful rooftop setting by a lovely lady who was always so attentive. First class break and will have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends.

Me and my Girlfriend arrived at the hotel in the evening and the book-in was quick and easy and the lift meant that we didnt have to lug our bags up the flights of stairs. We had help every time we needed it and bonded with the staff almost straight away especially both the receptionist, who talked to us about Rome/Italy and the things to do, and the waiter/manager of the restaurant on the top floor, who told us information about the Pantheon and other places and where to get the best coffee in Rome! The restaurant was a tad pricey but worth it as the food was really really good! Also an absolutely fantastic thing that the manager did was (as it was my girfriends birthday and valentines day two days before) to buy a chocolate cake laced with ameretto and a bunch of roses in a vase on request via email to the manager from me. The manager emailed me all the information I needed about the holiday.

The beautiful rooms are very chic as the hotel website explains, we stayed in room 308 (junior suite) this was fantastic with great views of the main street and a bath in the bedroom (I know it sounds wierd but it is definately a highlight!). you are hit with a faint orange aroma as you walk in and the bathroom also has this fresh scent. The rooms are cleaned thouroughly everyday and our bed clothes were folded neatly for when we came back from a great day out. There is a safe, tv with sky, a mini fridge and electric window shutters operated with a button by the bed to reduce the amount of movement you have to make :). The shower in the bathroom is very good!

The vatican is literally across a square outside, but the hotel is conveniantly just tucked within a main street so the tourist don't pile down your road just normal everyday traffic. the main city centre is a bit of a walk but when you are sightseeing and talking you really don't notice. We walked to the other side of Rome to the Trevi Fountain (Which, by the way, is very romantic!!) and that didnt take too long and my Girlfriend certainly isn't a hiker and she didnt complain! (scooters or bikes are available on request but we did'nt bother) The metro is a bit of a walk up a high street across the square outside the hotel (not too far) and this is how we got to the Colloseum for just 1 euro each way! We went to few restaurants around Rome during our week and the food is delicious especially pizza!

Rome is the place to be! For everybody, and it is such a beautiful place with the magnificent buildings and the culture is amazing! The people are also very friendly! Would recommend this place to anyone, and we are planning a return trip...

Our family tradition is to avoid spending family holidays with family. My husband and I traveled to the Orange Hotel in Rome to take advantage of their heavy Euro special and an affordable flight. This hotel has so many positives that I may run out of room. Our room, 308 (the junior suite) was excellently appointed. The plastic white, back-lit bathtub was cool. Take your fizzy bath bombs! The room was thoughtfully designed, with motion sensor lights in the closets, a toilet and bedet, effective black out shades and extra pillows. The breakfast is decent. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which officially opened after our trip. The owner was delightful, and the food was good after a long day of walking. I also liked that this hotel touts itself as a green hotel that actually seems to be. If you hang your used towels up, they do not take them and wash them anyway. When we put ours on the floor, they took them as promised. The staff downstairs was extremely helpful and accomodating, and the location could not be better. We were steps from the Vatican and a short walk from many of Rome's other attractions. Because this is a more residential area, there are many great markets to buy snacks for the room, like salami and cheese, and the in-room fridge has extra space.
Some pointers if you visit. This is a budget hotel. They do not provide toiletries other than pump soap. Take your own toiletries. They do not provide wireless internet, but a terminal is available in the lobby for 2 euro for 30 minutes. The hotel is on a busy street and is noisy, but my lime green earplugs (provided) blocked it all out. There is no radio in the room or any other means by which to play music. Take your own travel IPod adaptor and travel speakers or other means of generating music if you must have it. It is 40 euro to the airport by taxi, but we took the subway and commuter rail for 24 euro. A subway stop is only a couple of blocks away.
I would absolutely stay in this hotel again. It is excellently priced, clean and well located. I commend them. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Liked — Rome is now orange for me!
  • Disliked — The lack of wireless internet service.
