Orange hotel is one of those hotels that cannot be overrated. you'll be impressed. I stayed in this hotel with my daughter for her graduation present and it was absolutely amazing. modern room, awesome breakfast and lovely staff, we couldnt have asked for more. The price was WELL WORTH IT and this is the best way to spend a vacation in rome. this contemporary hotel is in the perfect location. what a great boutique hotel!

Our family tradition is to avoid spending family holidays with family. My husband and I traveled to the Orange Hotel in Rome to take advantage of their heavy Euro special and an affordable flight. This hotel has so many positives that I may run out of room. Our room, 308 (the junior suite) was excellently appointed. The plastic white, back-lit bathtub was cool. Take your fizzy bath bombs! The room was thoughtfully designed, with motion sensor lights in the closets, a toilet and bedet, effective black out shades and extra pillows. The breakfast is decent. We ate dinner in the restaurant, which officially opened after our trip. The owner was delightful, and the food was good after a long day of walking. I also liked that this hotel touts itself as a green hotel that actually seems to be. If you hang your used towels up, they do not take them and wash them anyway. When we put ours on the floor, they took them as promised. The staff downstairs was extremely helpful and accomodating, and the location could not be better. We were steps from the Vatican and a short walk from many of Rome's other attractions. Because this is a more residential area, there are many great markets to buy snacks for the room, like salami and cheese, and the in-room fridge has extra space.
Some pointers if you visit. This is a budget hotel. They do not provide toiletries other than pump soap. Take your own toiletries. They do not provide wireless internet, but a terminal is available in the lobby for 2 euro for 30 minutes. The hotel is on a busy street and is noisy, but my lime green earplugs (provided) blocked it all out. There is no radio in the room or any other means by which to play music. Take your own travel IPod adaptor and travel speakers or other means of generating music if you must have it. It is 40 euro to the airport by taxi, but we took the subway and commuter rail for 24 euro. A subway stop is only a couple of blocks away.
I would absolutely stay in this hotel again. It is excellently priced, clean and well located. I commend them. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • Disliked — The lack of wireless internet service.

We stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Orange in Rome and it was great!. The location is perfect and the neighbourhood it's very nice. The staff was very friendly and heplful. Two nights we decided to dinner at the hotel bar, the food and the wine was great!. Of all the hotels we stayed in Italy, this one was the best.

So many problems, so little time. The most egregious was on the last day: my husband stayed back and read a book in the lounge while my sister & I went sightseeing. He asked the desk lady (Spider-Lady based on the spider web tattoo on her arm) for the nearest restroom. She sent him to the basement which required going up 15 steps, then down ~30 steps to the maid's WC, which he had to re-trace to the lounge, not knowing that in the lounge where he was reading THERE WAS A BATHROOM! Did I mention that he uses a can due to recent knee surgery? And he has a bladder disorder that makes him use the facilities almost hourly? And, yes, she WAS aware of these conditions. Unconscionable! She had an attitude on every shift we had to interact with her. The other ladies were OK, but I got the feeling that asking any question was an imposition.

Second was the music pounding Wednesday night. Even with ear plugs, I had a hard time going to sleep. Fortunately, it stopped a little after midnight.

Hotel was decorated for looks but not function. No towel hooks - where do you hang the hand towel after washing your face? No counter space for make-up bag. Only liquid soap in a dispenser, not sure if it was shampoo in the shower or soap, either way one was missing.

At breakfast I was told I could only have 1 cup of coffee, after that I had to pay!

We'll NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Dear Sir/Madam,
we are so sorry that your journey in our Hote was not satisfied.
The principal duty of all the staff, including receptionist, is to satisfied the guestes, and when it didn't happen it's a professional and human failure.
A women professionalism, couldn't be based on a decoration on her body, if she attend all her duty.
You choose however to express your complain in this way and everyone is free to express his opinion as he prefer.
far wath concernes the episode about the husband of the lady, we remeber that we advised him to go to the bathroom in the lobby, becouse the bathroom in the basement is the staff's bathroom.
The concept of our hotel is fresh and youth design: in the bathrooms you can't find the classic hangers for towels but the innovative towels warmer.
the space for personal effect is not in the classical scheme near the sink, but under it.
On channel 9 of the tv in the rooms you can find an online brochure, with the explaination of all our services and how to use it.
We explain also the concept of "natural chic hotel": we try to limitate all the consuption and waste, our soap is anallergic and not tested on animals.
During breakfast we offer only one coffe or capucino, but on the buffet you can find american coffe, milk and tea and you can take it as you like.

My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights this April in Orange hotel and we liked it except few things. The room we got was too small, a bit claustrophobic, and we asked if they had a bigger one. They offered us to have one room for two nights and then the other one for the other two nights. As that was too inconvenient for us, we decided to stay in the given room. Two girls working on the front desk were very polite and hospitable the whole duration of our stay. The bathroom was actually the bright point; with a Jacuzzi bath and a romantic orange light….very clean, towels changed every day…The very bad point of this hotel (however, of most hotels in Italy, as we stayed in a hotel in Siena couple of days later) is the breakfast. Italy definitely deserves a better breakfast!

The hotel also has a garage (as we arrived in Rome by car) which is tiny and it is quite rough to get out if you have a bigger car. However, it is great to have it parked on the safe place, and they charge 20euro per day, and around the hotel it’s 1euro per hour…so it’s worth it…..

All in all, this hotel has a great location and is a perfect place for those who come to Rome to explore and to walk a lot as it’s situated exactly between the city center and Vatican City. Though some might find it costly…

Dear mr Zagreb, we are glad that you lilke our hotel, the location and our works.
We are sorry rhat we couln’t give you a bigger room, but april is high season in Rome, and our hotel was totally booked.
For all that concerned the breakfast we are improving the choose of food in it….and soon we served also warm dishes.
During the year we had a lot of special offer, so you can enjoy our hotel not spending so much….
