My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights this April in Orange hotel and we liked it except few things. The room we got was too small, a bit claustrophobic, and we asked if they had a bigger one. They offered us to have one room for two nights and then the other one for the other two nights. As that was too inconvenient for us, we decided to stay in the given room. Two girls working on the front desk were very polite and hospitable the whole duration of our stay. The bathroom was actually the bright point; with a Jacuzzi bath and a romantic orange light….very clean, towels changed every day…The very bad point of this hotel (however, of most hotels in Italy, as we stayed in a hotel in Siena couple of days later) is the breakfast. Italy definitely deserves a better breakfast!

The hotel also has a garage (as we arrived in Rome by car) which is tiny and it is quite rough to get out if you have a bigger car. However, it is great to have it parked on the safe place, and they charge 20euro per day, and around the hotel it’s 1euro per hour…so it’s worth it…..

All in all, this hotel has a great location and is a perfect place for those who come to Rome to explore and to walk a lot as it’s situated exactly between the city center and Vatican City. Though some might find it costly…

Dear mr Zagreb, we are glad that you lilke our hotel, the location and our works.
We are sorry rhat we couln’t give you a bigger room, but april is high season in Rome, and our hotel was totally booked.
For all that concerned the breakfast we are improving the choose of food in it….and soon we served also warm dishes.
During the year we had a lot of special offer, so you can enjoy our hotel not spending so much….

My wife and I stayed in Suite 308 at The Orange Hotel for our wedding anniversary. The room had a double aspect. We got a price of €205.00 per night on hotels.com.

Positives
Great location, close to The Vatican only 5 mins walk from St. Peters Sq.
Rooms were clean & tidy
Roberto the guy on the front desk who was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with good English
Rooftop terrace was interesting
Huge bath in the room
Effective A/C

Negatives
Rooms were very noisy with traffic (but I think you will get that in most central Rome hotels).
Rooftop terrace was locked early in the evening
No bar
Mini-bar was pricy

General Observations
Breakfast was basic, but OK.
Be prepared for lot's of orange in the rooms, that's why it's called the Orange Hotel
TV Channels for English were usual Sky News, BBC News and not much else
Limited Parking
Limited access for disabled travellers

Tips for travellers
Get a bus ticket for €16 from the Red bus tour people - (110 Open), gives you hop on/hop off all day long at all the major tourist attractions. Closest stop to the hotel is just in front of St. Peters Sq on Via Della Concilliazione. Make sure you have plenty of cash as they often don't have change and won't let you ride unless you have the correct money.

There is a good shopping street running parallel to Via Cresenzo with some good mens shirt shops and cafe bars (Via Cola di Rienzo).

Wander over to Pia Borgo where there are some nice restaurants where you can sit in the street (be aware that if you are non-smoker, you will be surrounded by smokers as you cannot smoke inside as per UK). This will remind you of a typical Italian street and has a lovely atmosphere at night and on a Saturday morning.

Can recommend a lovely patisserie on Pia Borga which did lovely coffee, pastries and other tasty bits for breakfast.
There is also a Scottish themed pub which serves McEwans lager, Guinness and other beverages if you get fed up on Peroni!

If you go to The Trevi fountain, there is a lovely traditional family run Pizza restaurant just opposite, which is very reasonably priced.

Overall The Orange Hotel met expectations, it's good to use as a base if you want something a bit different, but not so suitable if you like to sit in public areas, sipping coffee with hotel staff waiting on you.

Dear Guest,
we are glad that you decided to spent your wedding anniversary in our Hotel.
We are happy that you enjoy your stay in our Hotel, and we are sorry that you find our hotel noisy: as you can read in other review we are working on a new sistem to made our rooms soundproof. We hope that you can return to Rome to enjoy our new restaurant on the roof: that's why the roof was closed in the evening, we were working on it!

I stayed at the hotel with a group of 20 other people, when we entered the lobby it was very nicely decorated and in english! I was surprised to notice there were only 3 floors of rooms, i thought the hotel would be a little bigger. We stayed on the 3rd floor of the hotel in a triple occupancy room, it was alittle cramped, but the bathroom was actually bigger than i expected. Everything worked in our room except the television, other people had time to use the television and were able to get english television channels using the skytv. The windows were huge and we were unsure how to make the blind go down, we went to the lobby and the guy working was helpful, he was unsure how to put it down exactly, but came up to the room to check it out and he did figure it out. The lights only stay on with the key card in, which was a little annoying. My complaints for this hotel would be; bad food, breakfast was the only food we got and other than that there was no food around so i suggest you stock up on food in your room incase you get hungry! It is a noisy because of the location, you can hear cars and anyone talking near your room. Other than that the staff did a good job keeping the rooms clean and the location is extremely close to the vatican. There is a great pizza place around the block to, best pizza i had in italy! Overall i would recommend people to go to this hotel if they plan on doing alot of touring through the day and don't rely on hotel food.

Dear Guest,
we are happy that you like our Hotel and our works.
We opened only one year ago, so we are still improving the services of our Hotel: in a few days we are going to open a resataurant on the roof, so all the problem of food would stop!!!
About our rooms services we now had an eletronic guide that runs on 9 channel in all rooms.
Hope to see you again!

We didn't get the room that we booked on-line because it was not available anymore. The room was very small, dark and almost claustrophobic. Bathroom was very small and without windows. Breakfast was not exceptional and you have to pay if you get a second coffee! Rates are too high compared to the overall quality.

just get back from the orange hotel.
well, the hotel is in a perfect location (as my tagline sez). close to an underground staion (i think it's "ottaviano") and really close to the vatican.
as far as i felt, it was an "ok" or a bit worse hotel some time ago. someone bought it and did his/her best to make a so called "design hotel". well, this peson was quite successfull.
yes, it's orange. see orange, smell orange or even eat orange (there are some small orange trees on the roof terrace).
i liked it.
the staff was really helpful and kind. we arrived quite early, but our rooms were ready.
but, there are some negative things, too.
the basic idea of "orange" was good, but there are some points where the execution is poor. it's like "i wanna be a design hotel, but at the end of the day i'm not".
basically, no probs at all, i just felt like i said.
the breakfast could be better and more.
anyway, it's a really good hotel in a reasonable price (compare to the same quality hotels in rome).
