Did the Roman Forum & Colosseum tour in the morning with Jimmy, no regrets...without him it would have been just another photo taking place...
if you have done some sort of history course or extensive reading, you won't know where to look and Jimmy does it with ease and makes it all the more interesting with other bits of information...
Heart of Rome tour in the evening...we have been through the places on our own over the past 2 days...felt like photo taking places again...been there...done that...but with Jimmy along it was a whole new experience again...we learned so much more and combined with info/experience in the morning we saw how much history was intertwined which enabled us to SEE things around the city of Rome and not just dismiss them as just another statue or obelisk...

We took the Vatican and Colliseum/Forum tours during the last week of May 2009. Jimmy was our guide for the Vatican and was incredibly enjoyable and entertaining. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history. Our boys are 9 and 11 and he kept their attention during the whole tour. His knowledge of Michaelangelo and his works was so interesting. As was the history of Vatican City. This was our favorite tour in our 2 1/2 weeks in Italy.
Tom was our guide for the Colliseum/Forum and was also very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was very detailed in the stories of these sights. Again, keeping our boys' attention during this tour.
I would highly recommend this tour group and would use them again next time in lovely Rome.

We were in Rome from May 18th-24th as part of our European honeymoon and booked 3 tours with Angel Tours. The booking process was smooth but the highlight was Jimmy. Jimmy is what the perfect tour guide should be: Knowledgeable without being didactic; Enthusiastic; Passionate about the history and top it off with a great sense of humour. We both learned a lot and other than Capri- the Tours were the best part of our time in Italy. Please tip him well- he deserves it!!

We started on our first evening with the heart of Rome walk with Ken....a great introduction to the city. Jimmy guided us round the Vatican/St Peters on Saturday and then the Colisseum on Sunday. We still had plenty of time to do our own exploring and lingering over meals, but the tours meant that we saw and learned so much more than we expected to have managed in a short trip. The quirky, slightly irreverent humour of the guides added to the pleasure.
