This hotel is very near to the Metro, I can't remember exactly how we got there, but with a map, you'll be fine, and it is less than 5 minutes walk.
It is based in an apartment block on the 3rd floor.
The room was very nice, and very modern, with card entry to the room. There was a good air con system.
The front desk staff are pleasant, but don't make the little old lady angry! We put a towel down on the bed, and quickly ironed a shirt on there before going out one night, leaving no marks on the towel or the bed, but the iron was left unplugged near the bed, so I guess she must have put 2 and 2 together.
When we got in from sightseeing the next day, she started ranting in italian when we were walking to our door. We didnt understand her at first, as our italian is very basic, but through gestures, got the gist of what she was talking about. We said ok, fine, won't do it again like, but then she followed us in our room, and continued to rant for about 5 mins. I will add that there was already a note written in English asking us not to iron on the bed!
Eventually she went before we ejected her, crazy lady!!
The breakfast is not too hot, but does set you up for the morning.
You get a packet croissant each, a pack of crispbreads, a pack of biscuits, a butter, a jam, and 1 hot drink. It was fine, but we were grateful for more choice in our Florence hotel after 3 days of it!
There is a lovely restaurant nearby - I can't remember the name of it - turn left out of hotel, turn left at the crossroads (past the coffee shop), past a bakery, then it is on the left. You will see it from the main street, I think it was by a church. We found it very reasonable here, and our best meal in Rome.
We also ate in Piazza Navona at Ai Tre Tartufi (nice, but not that special), and on a roof top restaurant opposite the Colosseum. This was also nice, but the one nearer the hotel nicer.
We didnt really go to many bars because we were on a budget, but had a little spare money on our last night in Piazza Navona, so were given a flyer for Anima Bar, Via S.M dell'Anima 57, which do drinks specials. We were told it was 2 for 1, so thought why not? It was a very cool, funky bar, and we asked if cocktails were 2 for 1, and were told they were. I then double checked before we ordered, and was told yes again. When the cocktails came to our table, the lady asked for 20 euro (they were 10 each), then they made out that cocktails were never 2 for 1, it was long drinks. We should have argued, and refused to pay, but we just reluctantly paid, then left, when we were planning to stay for quite a few. So be careful!!!!
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the Colosseum.
