We have been in Rome from 11-Apr-2009 for 5 days.
I ordered a B&B at spazioMax through venere.com. It was about 15 min on Metro from Termini. Priceed 80 Euro on Easter days.
Unfortunately, I did not confirm my order the day before my arrival (legally, there was no need to do it). When we met Massimo, we were quite shocked to hear that he thought we will come the next day and that our ordered room was occupied. The man apologized, and promised to get us another B&B for the same price.
Well, we never saw the original room, but we got a wonderful room at Via National, right close to the 64 bus line station (tip: go for a near to bus station location, better than near a metro station) .
That was a big room in an old fashion beautiful building with a decorated ceiling and a new ceramic floor, and a big bathroom with a bidet.
Even though the air condition did not work (thus we had to open the window to the street's transport noise), the floor was not cleaned each day, and breakfast was minimal, it was a wonderful place to live in, and we slept like babies.
The combination of a perfect location, comfortable bed, mini bar, nice bathroom, beautiful large room, and a nearby minimarket was much above our expectations.
We found Massimo a good natured charming Italian man, and fair too.
I am sure you will not be disappointed with him. However, I suggest you confirm the visit one week before, and just to be sure, one day before too…
