Outstanding service in a hotel with charm. The staff was extremely accomadating in helping us as we toured Rome. The hotel is located within close proximity to what ever we wanted to do...eat, shop, sight see and yet out of the way of the congestion of the busy city. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we were ever to visit Rome again. It is a gem!!

We have stayed in Rome several times - it's one of our favourite cities. We wanted to stay in an area that was more neighbourhood than tourist and Trastevere was an ideal choice. It's very traditional with lots of good bars and restaurants. We tried to get reservations at the Hotel Santa Maria but they were full so we were booked in to the Residenza. It was charming. We were in room one which was spacious and had a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was good and we were invited to the hotel in the early evening for drinks and nibbles. We will return to Rome of course and I can't think of anywhere else that I would rather stay than the Residenza Santa Maria.

In the main flow of Santa Maria Square in Trastevere, there lies the quiet gem of the Residenza Santa Maria, sister hotel to the oasis Santa Maria Hotel. We stayed at the Residenza the first night, as our original choice was full, then moved over to the Santa Maria for the next two nights,. but we could have been happy the whole time at the Residenza...Both are 2 minutes apart, and we clattered our wheeled luggage across the Santa Maria Piazza...either choice is golden, and so fun to be amidst the bustle of the piazza, but still in a quiet sanctuary behind the hotel doors. Amazing and fully recommended! Yummy Italian breakfast with thick coffee, evening complimentary apertivo at the Santa Maria, and free bikes to use as you wish. Biking thru Rome is a real treat, although we recommend taking the small streets and pedestrian zones....much easier on the legs than WALKING everywhere...the best was the night bike ride to all the fountains and a late dinner at midnight in the Campo Di Fiori...we saw so much more in the bikes in our short 4 day stay than we could have on foot, and our legs were overly grateful to be tucked in comfy beds each night at the sister hotels...top notch restaurant recommendations from the staff, too. The Santa Marias and the Roma Pass is all you need for a great triprman--K Böttger, Hamburg Germany

We really enjoyed our stay at the Santa Maria. It is a quaint 7 room? hotel and the rooms are absolutely marvelous. Everything was wonderful, from the great free breakfast to the helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
