We took two tours with "Through Eternity" after seeing the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. The 6 hour tour (including a break for lunch) of the Vatican was wonderful. Our tour guide, Brandon, was great - friendly, personable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and with a great sense of humour - and our tour of some of the greatest art treasures in the world was greatly enhanced by having him as a guide. The second tour was a two hour twilight one aound some of the romantic parts of Rome. Again, our tour guide, Ian, was spot on - engaging, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and with a great sense of humour. The perfect way to end the holiday. Not only would I have no hesitation in recommending this tour company to anyone but have been doing ever since we got back.

My husband and I planned an anniversary trip to Italy, part land tour, part cruise tour of the Mediterranean. Through Eternity was the BEST decision we made while we were in Rome. Having never been to this region, we knew we needed instruction at the sights we would see, but didn't want to do the bus tour with 50 people. Through Eternity was greater than we could have ever anticipated and absolutely blew out of the water the tours we took on our cruise. They were incredibly impressive - informative, professional, and entertaining. We got the bang for our buck (or rather, euro).

We took 3 tours - the Roman Forum/Coliseum, the Vatican, and Rome by Twilight. They did more than just explain what this monument was or that ruin was; through the famous landmarks, they actually told the story of the Romans and the Catholic church and the Renaissance. My husband and I had a fabulous time since the groups were relatively small (6 to 16 ppl), especially compared to all the other tour groups we saw walking around us of 40-50 people.

Our tour guides - Anne, Janet, and Ian (listed with respect to the aforementioned tours) were highly knowledgeable and could answer several questions we asked them, in addition to being personable and welcoming questions. What we were most impressed with was the base of knowledge these guides possessed. Native English speakers, they spoke perfect English - quite a respite in the sea of Italian voices. There was no "um-ing" or stumbling; their understanding of Rome did not come from a script, but from their academic study in fine arts or archeology. They were enthusiastic and very passionate about explaining the history to us - which helped keep us focused on some hot days and made us loose track of time. We couldn't believe we had been with them for hours!

After taking these tours, we felt like we could really "appreciate" Rome and that we knew it much "deeper" than if we had just taken a guide book and walked around ourselves, for the walking had just as much historical narrating as the actually stopping and picture taking. Additionally, the guides gave great recommendations on restaurants, gelaterias, etc.

When I return to Italy, I will look them up again to do another one (or two!) of their tours!

Just got back from 5 hours with Gabriel at Through Eternity who took us through the Vatican - part of the art collection, Sistine, Basilica. He was brilliant (not even telling us off for being 15 minutes late - Rome traffic! - although we did ring ahead to advise of our lateness) and took a small group (8 people) through a fantastic journey in time, art and the development of Christianity in Rome. I learned more about art history in this 5 hours than the previous 58 years (then again, I did train as a scientist nt artist!).

He never sounded like he was 'on a script' and as a 6 year resident/student clearly knew his stuff.

Thoroughly recommended.

How often have you been on a tour and found you know more about the destination than the guide? Or the guide provides a canned presentation? Not so with Through Eternity! On June 20, 2009 my boyfriend and I toured the Colosseum and Roman Forum with Rob at Through Eternity. What a delightful experience, truly unforgettable. Rob provided an in-depth explanation of the history, culture, art and anything else our group had a question about it. He brought to life what looked like ordinary objects. His enthusiam, vast knowledge, and friendly style felt like we were touring the area with an expert friend. This is the way to experience Rome -- in a small group with a true expert. Don't miss this opportunity.

I went on an all-day tour of the Vatican and a morning tour of the Forum, Colosseum, and Palatine Hill. They were both awesome. Justin does a great job of putting everything in context - of explaining the significance of all of this to our modern civilization. He makes it all very immediate and relevant, as well as entertaining and fun. He obviously has a great breadth and depth of experience, and can answer almost any questions knowledgeably, from the details of ancient Roman life to recommendations about where to eat or what to do around Rome. I highly recommend these tours to anyone.
