“Vatican and Colosseum tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We took both these tours and were very pleased. I really think this is the way to see both these attractions. It means so much more when you get the history behind it all.

I especially liked Eva on the Vatican tour. It was a 5 hour tour and it did not seem long at all. She was very enthusiastic about the art and it came through on the tour. I appreciated her art history background.

I also appreciated the small group and no lines. The Vatican was very busy that day so that was a definite advantage.

Dear LBrantman,

We're so glad that you enjoyed your Ancient City and Vatican tours. No experience at the sites can compare to one with a guide who knows the monuments inside and out and is eager to share his or her passion with their clients. It really does give you a newfound appreciation for the places your visiting and why they are still so important. We're happy to hear that Eva was really able to bring the art alive for you and make the 5 hours in the Vatican fly by.

As you no doubt saw, the lines at the sites, and for the Vatican in particular, can be literally hours long. We know that you've come a long way to visit these incredible monuments and want to ensure that you spend as much time there as possible and so for this reason we by special tickets to bypass the lines.

We're delighted that you had such a positive experience with us. Please let us know if you return to Italy in the future. We also work in Florence, Naples, and Pompeii and would love the opportunity to tour with you again.

Sincerely,
The Customer Care Team

“Fantastic and intelligent walking tours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

My wife and I took two tours with Through Eternity on our recent trip to Rome. We also participated in three tours a few years ago on our last trip. I had read about the company on TripAdvisor and Rick Steve's guide books and was excited about taking a deeper dive into Roman history. We thoroughly enjoyed both the Underground Rome and 2700 Years of Scandal tours with Caterina and Mario. If anything, these tours are under-marketed on the website - they are truly fascinating. The guides have an excellent grasp of the material, but moreover they are visibly passionate about their areas of expertise and able to compellingly weave together the stories which give a glimpse into Roman history.

As this was not our first visit to Rome so we were looking to immerse ourselves deeper into the wealth of history and architecture while not repeated the "must see" sights from our previous trips. The two tours we booked definitely fit that criteria, they took us to the next level.

I would highly recommend these tours for anybody that really wants to do more than scratch the surface with a big bus tour and also enjoys walking.

“GRAZIE MILLE for these tours!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Where to start? My parents actually recommended these guys and I'm so happy I used them. The ever-wonderful Linda was our tour for both the long Vatican tour and the Ancient City experience. We got into Rome dangerously late in the morning, and were so late to the tour that we had to call the tour service and BEG them to wait for us. We are two students and were so afraid we were going to miss these great experience. But we ran out of the taxi, and were greeted with a smile from our guide. Linda led us through the treacherous crowd and charmed us with her knowledge in the specifics of art history, blending it with more contemporary cultural information as well. The next day, she took us through the Ancient City. I am so amazed with how hard these guides work and how upbeat they are. Explained so well and happy to answer questions, have conversations, and give suggestions and directions to places afterward, no matter how long they're on their feet. Thank you SO MUCH! Through Eternity really knows what they're doing!

“Vatican Museums and Saint Peter's Basilica - 6+ STARS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

On Monday, September 16, 2013, my family of nine had the pleasure of having Katia Di Lodovico give us a private tour “Vatican Museums and Saint Peter's Basilica (With Reservation to Avoid the Lines)”.
Katia arrived early at our hotel and helped us navigate transportation to the Vatican. (Half in a cab, and half on the train). It was immediately evident that we could not have made a better choice for our family’s first visit to Rome and our tour of the Vatican.
The reputation of Through Eternity was our reason for selecting your awesome company for this most-important event, but Katia is certainly the reason that we would recommend anyone, without hesitation, to utilize your services for future trips.
Katia was warm, friendly, attentive to our group, and was thoroughly knowledgeable (to the point of being an expert) on everything we had the good fortune to see. While some tour guides may have “learned” what to say, this was clearly not the case with Katia. She not only guided us through the wonders of this awesome and breath-taking collection of art and history, but there was not a single question asked (and we asked many) that she could not have answered completely and thoroughly. I myself was astounded at her ability to show our family a world that we knew existed but never had the pleasure. I was particularly impressed at the way she acted as a steward to the betterment of the Vatican and other visitors there.
I am especially grateful that we chose the longer tour as it was amusing to see other groups in a gallop through this wondrous place and we were able to take the proper time to learn and enjoy.
If you are reading this review and trying to decide on what company to employ to give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience, STOP, and book this company! You will thank me later!
Thank you Through Eternity, and a very special Thank You to Katia Di Lodovico for being a part of our family during our trip to this amazing city!
