Stayed at Residenza Madri Pie in May 2007. The best way to make reservations is by e-mail. My stay was excellent. The rooms are very basic, NO extras. Rumor has it that it was an old convent converted to hotel. Breakfast in morning was prepared by the nuns. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed. We did not feel rushed through our meal. The hotel was very clean and quiet. Security is not a problem, keys are left at the desk when you go out, no one goes to a room unless they have a room key, and the outside gate is locked after about 10:00pm so the desk clerk must buzz you in. My room had a blacony but nothing available to relax outside on. St Peter's Square is less than 2 minute walk from the hotel. The reason that I gave this hotel an okay is because one of the evening desk clerks was very rude and made it very clear to us that he had no intentions on making our stay pleasant. This issue was addressed with the hotel director. Therefore, I would definitely stay there again.
