“Decent But Lacking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

Firstly the night staff Angelo and Giulio are amazing and very nice. Unfortunately they do not have enough staff at any time and really should hire some more people. Angelo and Giulio are really stressed doing absolutely everything on their own, there is a bartender that does come and that eases some of the pressure but not enough. The rooms and location and quite decent BUT a bit "New York Loft" meets "Italian Period" which is accomplished by painting on the concrete walls. The bathrooms are clean and modern and beds are comfortable and prices for this location, which can be found on any "bargain site" are phenomenal. You really cannot beat that. The negatives is lack of staff, people stand around a lot waiting day and night, though day staff are plentiful. I also would NOT recommend the "Spa". It is a self-service Spa and they charge 25 Euros per person though I think couple rate is lower (I think two go for 30). There is NO massage or any typical spa services just lounges, lockers, and a waterbed with some massage "waves" and a Turkish sauna and a typical sauna (wet). There are showers too but otherwise for 25 Euros save the money.

All in all though I would highly recommend the hotel. BUT I did have an issue with the fact I had a broken toilet and had to use all my towels to clean the water and the maid will NOT automatically come to your room, you need to actually set the sign out. I did tell the front desk and it was cleaned and the toilet fixed.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was fab with a great bathroom and efficient air-con - needed it. The reception staff, day and night, were very welcoming and helpful, in particular Michael. They were generous with time and advice and maps.
Breakfast on the top floor was great. No complaints!!!
Great situation in a quiet safe area near the Borghese park. 15 minute walk to the Trevi or Spanish Steps or the 60 bus is really handy.

The rooms are modern and relatively spacious for Rome. It is 2 blocks from Via Venedetto. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have a restauarant of its own besides breakfast so you will need to plan around that. I think that is a waste because they could make musch better use of their wonderful roof garden than just use it for breakfast. Was there in June and will be back there again soon for another trip.

I recently spent 4 nights in Rome, Italy at the Romanico Hotel. Just 2 blocks from the famed Via Veneto at a more reasonable cost than the famed hotels on the Via Veneto, it provided a comfortable, reasonable , and convenient location to all the famed sights of Rome. A beautiful room with a small but comfortable balcony with a view of the city. Breakfast was served on their roof top restaurant. The staff from the manager to the wait staff at the restaurant could not have been more helpful, with a pleasant Buon Giorno from every staff person. The desk staff and particularly Julio went out of their way to help you with suggestions of restauants including making reservations and to suggesting tours whether walking or by tour guide. All this helped to make our stay in Rome memorable.

Room Tip: Pick a room with a balcony , sixth floor facing the city

I made my choice for this hotel based on the tripadvisor's reviews. I had to book in the very last moment and the communication with the hotel staff was active, relevant and it met my expactations. I had very nice stay at the hotel. The location is perfect and there is an appropriate balance price-quality for the benefit of the client. The entire furnishing of the hotel is vey interesting providing a cosy environment. The breakfast is on the terasse with wonderful italian coffee or capuchino prepared by the expert at the bar.
I would choose again this hotel for my business trips to Rome.

great location, walking distance from the American embassy and via Veneto, but it is like being in an hotel in Las Vegas or Macao...but you are in Rome, the kingdom of art...and this hotel does not remind to art at all! very kind people, clean rooms.
Breakfast served on the roof but it closes at 10.30...again in Rome??? It should be opened till later...

Rented two rooms for six (6) people June 22-24 and again June 28. Family vacation in Italy with 1st leg of trip in Rome. All of the six adults had only positive assessment of our 3-day + 1 more day stay. Location, location, location... extremely close to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Restaurants, Colloseum, Pantheon & Vatican... all no more than 15 minutes by Taxi and 20 minutes walking distance to Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain. Hotel staff was grand and rooms, shown by posted pictures are very nice. Hotel staff were very accomodating and not uncommon to have a taxi in less than 5 minutes. Since we traveled with a party of sizx we needed a van or two taxi's... never an issue. Would we stay again at Hotel Romanico again?..absolutely. After our morning travel, the Hotel offered a refreshing respite during the high heat of the day before we journeyed back out in afternoon and evening hours. The food...breakfast was very well managed, served on the rooftop, selection was great.. tables were spotless... had to give individual managing credit.. Should you read negative comments from people ... please ignore.. they are unfounded! The experience and proximity to historical elements was great!

Room Tip: I rented 3 rooms over a 4 day period in June 2012...all rooms were great ..and enjoyed watching Ita...
