Please do not listen to the prior review from May 2007. I can honestly say I thought twice about booking here because of the review but it must have been because it was so long ago. All I know is that Fabio went above and beyond the call of duty to have someone pick us up at the airport, as well as take us to the airport when we left. He gave us all kinds of helpful advice, even tried to get our rental car pick up rearranged so that it was closer to our location. He is amazing! As far as the facilities, we were at most a five minute walk to the Vatican. There were places to eat and shop right outside your door. The elevator was a little old, but there was an elevator, which was good for my elderly parents. We booked a room for my 18 yr old daughter and my husband and myself. Much to our surprise, our daughter actually had her own room, like a two bedroom suite. The mattresses were memory foam, not a topper, a full memory foam mattress. It was such a welcome relief to lay down on that bed, I can't begin to tell you. They had a very nice breakfast area to eat, lots of fresh fruit available, as well as tea and coffee, espresso, pastries, nuts, cereals, etc. We could access this at any time throughout our stay. Fabio's sister actually took us to the Ciampino airport to pick up our car and waited on us to make sure we got the rental (even though she had groceries for her twin daughter's birthday party with her). She helped my husband get an "upgrade" to a very nice van. It was just an outstanding stay...we wish we could've stayed longer. We MOST DEFINITELY will stay there again when we return to Rome. Please make it a priority to stay here if you need excellent accommodations close to the Vatican with outstanding service. Can't say enough good things.
