“modern hotel that caters to tours”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Our tour was among several tours staying there on two separate occasions (beginning & end of tour). Because of this the breakfast room was a zoo & so was the lobby most of the time because that is the only place you could access the Wi-Fi. The rooms had strange lighting, red or blue in the ceiling & also in the bathroom area under the sink. There was only frosted glass separating the toilet/shower area from the rest of the room. The dining room didn't open until 7:30, but there was a good pizza place just down the street. The staff wasn't the friendliest, but overall it was very clean.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I stayed a week for business, including a weekend. The staff is just plain rude. Several interactions with front desk staff in person and over the phone confirmed this impression.

There is a leak from the ceiling at the front desk - dripping directly into a large bowl. When we needed an extra key, they charged me 5euros b/c they said that is how much it costs to replace the key if we lose it. I was told I would get the 5 euros back but then the maid took our extra key when cleaning the room.

The movie channel didn't work - but it took 3 calls to the front desk and 3 visits from the bellman and maintenance for them to come to this realization. They said they would fix it the next day but never did.

We arrived at 11:30pm on a Saturday evening and the kitchen was closed. They said that there was no food on the premises at all. We couldn't even get bread. It must have only JUST closed as we saw several people in the bar eating!

As others have mentioned - no wifi in the rooms!?!?! I could see later the benefit for them - come down to the bar and eat/drink while you use the wifi down here!

Breakfast was ok. The servers were actually friendly and gave much better impression than front desk staff.

The room was satisfactory. Nothing outstanding at all. It was clean. Minibar had only 2 bottles of water. Don't arrive hungry!!

It is a 15 - 20 euro trip into Rome or surrounding areas. Taxi's were sometimes quick and sometimes we had to wait 10 minutes (even tho I called downstairs ahead and asked to pls call taxi now so I didn't have to wait - they refused).

While all staff seemed to speak some English, I would say that comprehension is "adequate" at best, for most. I suspect this is why we were frustrated most of the time - communication issues. *I've lived in Europe for 9 years and am quite adept at speaking simply and clearly to non-native English speakers.

Not only would I not stay again but I couldn't wait to get here to write the review to spare others our experience!

*to be fair to the hotel... there was one good point! The quality Air Conditioning! My American mother - who LOVES her air conditioning was very happy with the room's temperature control. You don't often get this in Rome.

Room Tip: don't.

This isn't a bad hotel so much as it's a good hotel with several glaring flaws. Specifically:

• WIFI. Only available in the lounge, and is only free for 1 hour (after that, it's 5 euros for 24 hours).
• BATHROOMS. The toilet and shower are separated from the sleeping area only by a sliding frosted glass door, which does very little for privacy or noise reduction. Granted, this isn't uncommon for European hotels, but it doesn't change the fact that we had to use the bathroom in shifts.
• DISTANCE FROM CITY. This was less of an issue for us because we were on a tour group, but if you're traveling alone you'll have to use public transit or cough up 15-20 euros for a cab if you want to get into the city.

On the positive side, the rooms are clean and quiet, and continental breakfast is fantastic.

1 of the best hotel where I have ever been!
hygiene ++++
location ++++ (10 min by car -->> centre, 20 min by Metro (Garbatella station) ---> centre)
parking ++++ (cover parking 15 euro x day but outside a lot of free parking..the area is very safe!)

Although located about 6 or so kin from the airport the hotel is located at the extreme edge of the city. From the outside it certainly is a splendid sight butonce inside things are different. The staff attempt to be helpful although not all speak english and i once heard one of the employees speak in a rough tone to a guest. The hotel is like two separate buildings each with their own lift.Staff sometimes didn't adequately explain about the facilities available. The rooms were modern and had the necessary appointments for guests. The bed was comfortable without being extraordinary and the room quiet. The dining facilities were excellent with a good breakfast selection. To tour from here takes a short walk to a local subway.A taxi ride would be more suitable for elderly people. The downside of this hotel is its location, being isolated from any major attractions. Also it is located near a rundown suburb which one shouldn't walk through alone. The rooms are pricey for the luxury suites but otherwise okay for the solo traveler.

Room Tip: Near top facing city.

We spent 4 days in this hotel. Rooms were clean, breakfast good -buffet-. Wireless is not available in the rooms, only in the lobby area. Nice lightings in room but Intolerable heat in the room. 30 min. to campidoglio by bus

we stayed for one night with a group. internet is free for one hour only. breakfast was o.k., the main minus is the location. the hotel is a 30 minutes drive from city center.
if this is not a problem, then for the price the hotel is fine
