“Great Location in Trastevere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2010

This is a very quaint B&B in Trastevere, and is situated on two separate floors in the building. The pictures make the rooms appear larger than they are, so we were a little dissapointed. But that's not to say the room was tiny -- it was adequate, and about the same size as some of the smaller hotel rooms in the States. The bed was comfortable, and once we figured out how to adjust the thermostat, the room temperature was comfortable as well. We did have trouble getting the free wi-fi to connect, and we had trouble getting the window/shutters to close all the way. There is a private bath, but there is absolutely no counter space in the bathroom for toiletries or to even set down a blow dryer. And be advised -- there is only one outlet in the bathroom. The "American" breakfast that is posted on their website is a basic continental breakfast. The dinning/breakfast room appears to be no larger than one of the guest rooms with five or six bistro tables crammed into it with a counter along one wall with food & coffee. The yogurt, OJ and milk were not kept cold in any way, so by the time we got there (9:30 or 10am), those items were room temperature. The staff, while very pleasant, spoke very little English. We actually had very little contact with them after we checked in; although they were helpful in arranging for a car (50 Euro) to the airport. The main reason we stayed here was the location. We wanted to be in a more "local" place rather than a tourist area, since we could walk to most all of the tourist attractions. Trastevere is within walking distance to everything -- if you are willing to walk. We walked along the Tiber River to the Vatican -- 20 minutes at best. There is a tram stop just a block away; the Piazza Santa Maria is just two blocks away; and around every corner there is a cafe/restuarant and shopping. The price was competitive with other lodging in the area at about 155 Euro (or $220) including all taxes. In this case, I think you get what you pay for -- it's budget B&B about the equivalent of Travelodge in the States.

I stayed in Your Nest in Rome with my mother for a week for New Year vacations. It was a great stay! Wonderful rooms, very clean, very helpfull staff. B&B is situated in the heart if Rome, in Trastevere. Charming views, beautiful churches, best restaurants, small shops...only few steps from your door. You can reach the historical center in 15-20 minutes and your route will be very pleasant. Looking forward to my next roman holidays! Of course, in your nest in Rome!

Myself and my wife spent the weekend in Rome from the 26th March until the 28th March 2010. I must say Your Nest in Rome is a great place to stay and a great location. Plenty of nice places to eat and seems to be where all locals come to eat. I would go back tomorrow such a wonderful B&B.

This bed and breakfast is ideally located in the hart of Transtevere and has absolutely beautiful rooms. The room was air conditioned and had charming furniture. Breakfast was standard fresh bread jams etc and is eaten with other residents which was excellent for sharing advice and opinions on days out and must see places. The owner ,Cristiana is very friendly and extremley helpful .
Rome....it can be whatever you want from a holiday. Do you need to relax and get some peace and quiet? Maybe you'd like to go exploring, just for fun or to see some ancient wonders of the world.

I stayed at Your Nest in Rome while visiting my daughter who is studying in Rome for the semester. The web site promised close walking distance to all the tourist places I would want to see. They were right. I never rented a taxi or took the bus. When I got off my flight, I showed friendly strangers the directions given in Italian from the web site, and I was able to easily take the public transportation to the hotel at a fraction of the cost of a taxi. My room was clean, breakfast was pleasant, and the neighborhood was quiet. The office (if I remember correctly) is on the 5th floor, which was not obvious to me from the front of the building. You may want to confirm this, you have to press the doorbell to be admitted - a little different from what you would find in Minneapolis!

I stayed here at the beginning of July with my husband and teenage daughters. It had been recommended by my Canadian cousin. 'Your Nest' is situated down a short street, not too far from St Peter's. It is at the top of an old building which seems to have apartments downstairs. The lift is interesting, as it only holds two people, or one person and a suitcase. That proved tricky as we were staying there a couple of days prior to a cruise and so had lots of luggage. However, on arrival at the top floor (in shifts) I was met by Cristina who I had exchanged e-mails with re. our booking. She was most welcoming. She had given our daughters a large room with jacuzzi bath next to ours - rather than put them on another floor, and she could not have made us feel more welcome. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with air-con, flatscreen TV, en-suite etc. Breakfast was served downstairs , buffet style with a choice of cold meats, fruit, yoghurt and pastries/bread. Fresh coffee and juices were available. There were some good restaurants and bars nearby. The local Church is well worth a visit. We were easily able to walk to the Colosseum and other sites from here. St Peter's was walkable, though we took a taxi as it was so very hot. 'Your Nest' is perfect for a short stay in Rome. If you are wanting more ameneties or pool etc. then it's obviously not going to be the place to stay. It is a B&B, not a four star hotel. However, if, like us, you want to be up and out and sightseeing all day, quick shower then out in the evening and a clean and comfortable bed for the night at a very reasonable price, then this is the place for you. One tip in Rome - visit the Capuchin Crypt (walkable from Trevi Fountain)....fascinating and creepy. Remember ladies, to cover shoulders and bare legs.......otherwise they have a few split plastic bags which they give you to cover up, but in the heat, in July, that was a little warm!
