My 21 yo daughter and I stayed at Hotel Artorius on May 14. We arrived in Rome jet lagged and ready to stretch. They sent a driver to pick us up at the airport and tell us what we were passing as we drove into town. The hotel is small with a charming receptionist who checked us in and took us to our room. The room was a fair size considering we were in a large European city and the bathroom was great! Of course, by now, my definition of a great bathroom is one in which my husband, who's quite husky, could turn around in and not get stuck, that has good water pressure and large soft towels. It was a trifecta!
The room was large enough for my daughter and myself to get comfortable but not really spacious. The really good part was it was quiet at night. I love that!
And in the morning there was cereal, rolls, fruit and cappaccinos- a great way to start the day.
It's walking distance to the Colloseum, Forum, etc as well as to Plaza Navona so the location was pretty good. No sidewalks though so watch the traffic. When we checked out we were going to an apartment that wasn't ready yet so they held our luggage for us for about 5 hours while we tooled around town.
We're going back on Friday for one more night before I go home, and I'm really looking forward to it!

We recently spent two nights at Hotel Artorius on the last leg of an italian tour. This hotel was truly a small oasis that you would miss if you did not watch for the small, discreet hotel sign on the wall.
The rooms have been beautifully appointed with gorgouse fabric on the walls, incredible marble in the bathroom, it is evident that no expense has been spared to make these rooms stunning down to the last detail.
Breakfast was delicious, fresh pastry every morning with a good cappucino was enough to keep us going for the day
The staff were very accomodating in all aspects of our dealings with them, from recommending restaurants to helping us find our way back out of the city!
Luca went out of his way to make our stay truly a great experience, in making phone calls for us to confirm car rental information, dinner reservations and getting our internet hook up in place.
A word of advice, do not drive your car into the heart of Rome, we learned the hard way. Traffic can be horrendous and while streets are clearly marked on maps, the direction in which they run is not!
This is a hotel I would definitely return to!

I can't say enough about the Artorius Hotel and their staff! The rooms & bathrooms are clean, beds are comfortable, the location is great and the staff goes over and above anything I have ever found here in the states! The bedrooms & bathrooms are larger than most you will find in Rome. The breakfast they serve in the morning is plentiful and their cappucinos not only are delicious, but a work of art!! Each day my cappucino had a different design on the top, smiley face, fish, flower, star.....what a delightful way to begin your morning!
Most of all the sites are within walking distance, and we found several fabulous restarants on the same street or around the corner. If we could give this hotel more stars we would!! When visiting Rome, we would not stay anywhere else!!

The Hotel Artorius is a very well-maintained, friendly, small hotel on a small street in central Rome. It is in a very convenient location: the Forum, Colosseum, Trevi fountain are a short walk away, and you can catch a bus to the Vatican easily from very close by.

Our room was of a decent size for a triple, and very comfortable and spotless. The staff were very cordial and went out of their way to help.

The only thing keeping it from getting a "5" is that I expect a nicer room for the price we paid. Granted, there was nothing wrong with the room at all, and prices in Rome are very high in May, but neither the room nor the value warranted a "5" for me. A "4" is pretty good!
