VERDICT:
Artorius is a nice hotel in a great part of Rome. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, although quite small. Rome's attractions are minutes away on foot, as are some great restaurants and shopping. Termini train station is also very close.

BIGGEST COMPLAINT:
Our only complaint is the cramped size of the room and bathroom.

ROOM:
Aside from size, the room was very clean and decorated with modern furniture/fixtures. The bathroom was sparkling clean every day. The bed is fairly comfortable, and there is internet access in the room. Our view was of the alley where you enter the hotel; but since it's off an alley, noise is minimal, which makes for easy sleeping.

AREA:
Artorius is close to Termini train station (5 minute taxi ride = 10 Euros). It is within walking distance of the Colloseum, Palatine Hill and most other ancient attractions. Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon were a bit further, but still walkable. The Vatican is easy to reach by subway. Overall it's a great location in a safe, well lit area. Restaurants are close and plentiful, as is shopping.

SERVICE:
Very good - friendly, good English and helpful with directions and suggestions.

FOOD:
The complimentary breakfast is very good with lots to choose from. Yogurt, crossaints, rolls, ham/cheese, fresh fruit shake, etc.

We stayed at the Hotel Artorius October 3-6, 2008.

To sum it up: it's a fantastic deal. No- it's not the Four Seasons, but it's a high quality, clean hotel with friendly staff in a great location for a great price.

Breakfast was included, which was great. It was three blocks from the Colosseum, 10 minute walk from the Trevi fountain, 12 from the Spanish Steps and maybe 30 from the Vatican. We walked everywhere, never needed a taxi or bus. I would consider us very physically active though. Bus is at the top of the street if you need it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Gave us a great map at check in and we never got lost. They spoke great English.

The hotel is located on a fairly quiet side street with lots of retaurants and a small grocery store. Stop into the Irish pub if you're there and see Colin, the bartender. It was our one change up from wine and pasta all week. Sometimes you just need a Guiness :)

Rome was amazing. The food was amazing, the architecture was amazing. The sights, the art, the history. Loved it. This hotel was a great base for all that Rome has to offer.

Loved this place. I can't say anything negative, the location (Approximately 10-15 minutes walking from the Colloseum) was great, the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the rooms were nice and big and very clean.

We chose Artorius after reading the reviews on TA. The hotel did not disappoint. Spotlessly clean. Staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast in their courtyard is very nice. Would highly recommend staying here.
