My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during a 2 week trip to Italy. This hotel was our favorite of all our hotels in Italy. The location is the best part of this hotel. The entrance is only steps away from the Trevi Fountain. Every morning we ate breakfast out on the hotel's terrace and enjoyed views of the fountain. What a wonderful way to start every day. Morning is the best time to see the fountain because there is no one around the fountain. As the day progresses, the area around the fountain becomes packed with tourists. The hotel's central location allowed us to everywhere. It was about a 30 minute walk to the Vatican and a 15-20 minute walk to the train station and colosseum area. The location allowed us to spend the day out exploring the city and easily return to our room for some re-energizing before heading out to enjoy the city at night.
Our room was satisfactory. It was always clean and comfortable. We did not have a room with a view, but this was not important to us. We just wanted a convenient place to rest. The bathroom was large for Italy and well laid out. The hotel's staff was extremely helpful. Apon arrival the provided us with a map of the city and showed us the best routes to get to each site. They also did a good job of recommending places to eat.
The breakfast was nice. There was breads and jam, lunch meats and cheese, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, and juices. A very nice variety.
We loved this hotel and would definitely recommend the hotel. My parents are visiting Rome in October and they will be staying here based on our recommendation. If we are lucky enough to return to Rome ourselves we will stay here again.

Our room had about the worst view I've ever had from a hotel window ... a brick wall less than 6 feet away. We had to lie on our backs hanging out of the window just to see the sky!! This was so disappointing as I'd emailed the hotel in advance to tell them that we were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. A room with a view of some kind would have been appreciated! The minibar in the room contained half a bottle of water when we arrived and was never replenished. Then of course there was the matter of the roof garden, much praised on the website ... which was closed during our stay with no access until April!
And finally, the timing of our flight home meant we had to leave the hotel at 7.00am to get to the airport. We asked if it was possible to have something to eat before we left (we would miss the 7.30am breakfast) or at least some coffee but they said "no".
But apart from those negatives we thought the hotel was beautifully decorated and in a great spot - virtually on the doorstep of the Trevi with lots of atmosphere. Pity they couldn't have done more to make our 40th wedding anniversary even more memorable.
I would recommend the hotel to a friend but suggest they enquire about the room first!

I did quite a bit of tripadvisor research prior to booking rome as previous place i had stayed was very ordinary. i found this one which had good reviews and location was so good. price was quite reasonable to. we arrived at train station at 7am after 24 hour journey from melbourne. got a taxi and got ripped off badly, he charged 20 euros, it should have been 7-8euro the reception staff told me! anyway it made me more aware for rest of trip. our room was ready which was such a relief as we needed the shower after the long trip. room was nice, good 4 star. bathroom was also good. it was winter so bar/terrace wasnt open at night, but breakfast is served on top floor with terrace open then so could take advantage of great view overlooking trevi fountain. we walked everywhere in rome as nothing is really to far away. vatican is maybe longest and thats only 30min walk. trevi fountain is so nice and was good to grab a beer and sit there enjoying the views. rome is beautiful and has so many sites to see. the most annoying part of the city though is the constant pestering of people trying to sell u things such as umbrellas, toys, keyrings etc. and they keep coming back if u are sitting there. i had to tell a few where to go, which they didnt take to well! i was a bit disappointed with the food, probably because we were in the tourist areas so they dont really care about there food as people come in regardless. i thought this place was very good value and u wont be disappointed staying here.

We stayed at Relais Fontana Di Trevi in December 2008 for 2 nights. The hotel is way too good than I expected, we stayed in a regular room which is large and clean. The location is just perfect, we walked everywhere, even to the Vatican. The atmosphere of the street is amazing, just in front of the Fontana di Trevi and the sound of the water can be heard when you open the windows.

The breakfast is very delicious in a very lovely decorated dining room. In the summer breakfast is served in a terrace which has Fontana di Trevi view. The hotel has an elevator; you just have to use the stairs to the reception on the first floor. Our flight was very early in the morning so we did not pay for the room at the last night and spent the whole day walking and shopping around. After midnight we still had a couple of hours to be spent and we sit and relaxed in the leather coaches in front of TV at the reception till our shuttle arrived.

I would definitely stay at Relais Fontana Di Trevi when I go to Rome again!

Loved the location!!! We had a great view of Trevi Fountain from our room! Breakfast was great, service was amazing. Oh yeah, did I mention the location!!! The room was spacious and cleaned twice a day. You do have to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs to get to reception, but after that they take care of everything for you. It was raining very hard when we were there and our ceiling leaked, alot. Being right beside the fountain I was afraid it would be loud but we could here nothing.
