There isn't anything spectacular about this hotel, but I found it clean and comfortable as a place to store luggage, sleep and dress. Some staff members are extremely helpful. Some are not. The nearest metro station is a decent walk from the hotel, but that isn't unusual in Rome. The Vatican entrance is also a little hike, but not too bad. Take a decent map to find your way around the neighborhood. The price we paid was quite reasonable for the experience (by Roman standards).

I stayed in this residence in November 2007. The location of residence is nice, very close to St. Pietro and Vatican, 5 minutes walking. There are 2-3 restaurants in the nearest area. The room was clean, bathroom is big... but the kitchen staff (plates, spoons etc) was impossible to use, everything was old and quite durty. There is no air conditioner, but central warming system. Stuff was friendly. I would come back to this residence next time when I go to Rome.

This "hotel" is completely mis-advertised. It is really nothing more than a glorified hostel. It was small, dirty, and the people working there were very unhelpful. There were dead bugs all over the place and
the shower didn't work. The bug problem was so bad, in fact, that we got bites all over our bodies during the short amount of time that we were there. We were scheduled to stay 2 nights but could not stand to even stay 1 hour! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!

“Nice little place - good location”

We stayed for six nights at the Vatican Suites, two kids, 12 and 15, and two adults. We had a two bedroom apartment. It was small, but functional. We were about a 10 minute walk from St. Peter's Square. A bus right into the core of the city was a few steps away and took less than 15 minutes. The subway was also nearby.

The hotel is in a residential neighbourhood, although there are several bed and breakfasts and small hotels nearby.

There is no restaurant in the hotel but then again, there is no shortage of food in Italy.

There is a laundry facility which was handy.

I would recommend this for families with kids who need space. Getting this much space in a regular hotel would be 2-3 times the price. We also saved in being able to buy some of our meals to eat in.

PROS: high quality building, great price for a very nicely furnished two bedroom apartment

CONS: not much to see or do in the neighbourhood except visit the Vatican, not very convenient to the Metro, limited housekeeping and front desk services, no air conditioning

If you are a tourist primarily going to the Vatican, or in Rome on an extended business trip, this could be an excellent choice for you. If you are a tourist going to a variety of sights around the city, then you will probably end up taking alot of taxis or long walks.

If you are going in the summer, probably better to find a place with air conditioning.
