From the reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided to go with Gulliver's Lodge B&B and stay for 4 nights. For us, we would've been happy to stay for only 1.
The B&B is conveniently located from the Termini Station (10min walk), however, at night time, we had to travel further to find good quality trattorias and restaurants.
Our room was seperated from the main rooms and communal room. The keys were a bit difficult to deal with, needing to turn the key and push whilst pulling the door knob, but we eventually got the hang of it. Breakfast was served in our rooms which was great. A good size meal with basic items consisting of cereal, juice, tea/coffee, a sandwich with cheese and deli meat, yoghurt and a sweet bread of some kind.
There was satellite TV, which sounded impressive, but not easy to operate and a couple of English channels, mainly news. Tea and coffee making facility was available with free internet useage in the seperate communal room.
The room itself was ok, but lacked the feeling of cosiness. But worst of all was the bathroom. I can say, it was the worst shower I've had on our whole trip. A small space with a high pressure shower head and shower curtain, the water drained so slowly that the water level went up to my ankles whilst taking a shower - not exactly the most relaxing and clean, particularly after a tiring day of site seeing.
A redeeming feature was Sara, the owner who was very helpful during our stay and helped us with where to go, where to purchase our Roma passes. She was only present in the mornings, but we appreciated her advice.
Overall, Gulliver's Lodge was unfortunately not what we were expecting from a B&B (personalised service, comfortability and cosiness). It was annoying having to call before we arrived at the B&B. Other B&Bs were happy for us to email them our estimated time of arrival. If we return to Rome, for the price of the accommodation, we will try some other place.

Finding Gulliver’s Lodge was very difficult, and having to call to be let in is incredibly inconvenient. However, we really did like the b&b – large room, comfy bed, free Wi-Fi, great breakfast. To be honest, there are certain things you can overlook, and though finding the place was a pain and it’s annoying to have to call to be let in, these are things you can live with. At night the location can be intimidating, just for the simple fact that there is not very much around the b&b. The only thing that really ruined the stay for us was that the owner, Sara, was really not at all helpful. A piece of our luggage went missing and was set to be delivered on our first night at the b&b. It turns out the airline did try to deliver it, but Sara was not on site and would not make herself available to let the airline driver deliver the luggage. It ended up taking three days before we received our close. It turns out they called her a couple of times (the phone number she gave was to her direct cell and not to the b&b), and her only suggestion to us was to either go purchase a cell phone and try calling the airline ourselves (opposed to calling from our room) or stay at the b&b until it arrived. She never apologized for not making herself available or calling us so we could stay and wait for the driver. In addition, she was helpful when we asked any questions about how to get places. So, I think yes the place is worth it b/c you get so many amenities, but don’t stay here if you require a certain level of service.

We spent 5 nights at Gulliver's during our 7 week trip. Rome fell right in the middle of our travels, and we found Gulliver's to be a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Sara was a warm and gracious host. She made sure we had all the information we needed to make our stay in Rome a wonderful experience. Our room was more than adequate size, nicely decorated, QUIET, and there was plenty of hot water.

Breakfast was a great treat. Basically served whenever you are ready for it, and if you have an early plane or train, they'll bring you a tray ahead of time. It was more than we could eat! Other amenities that we enjoyed were free wifi for my iPhone, a computer and printer, if needed and the DVD library. My husband and I enjoyed unwinding with a movie at the end of a long day. We even watched Roman Holiday one night.

A/C was a must for the two of us and made the room all the more comfortable and pleasant after sweating it out in the sun all day.

Location was very convenient, about a 15 minute walk (downhill) from the Termini. It's close to a metro stop (Cavour). There are lots of restaurants, including a tasty gelato place. A Tabacci shop a couple of doors down sells the Roma Pass, stamps, etc. We also used the laundry across the street and down about a block. (It was full service, and the fastest laundry we did on our entire trip. (Less than an hour for two loads. Sara recommended it.)

I can't say enough about how much we liked this place. We would certainly stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone we knew traveling to Rome.

We booked this based on Rick Steve's recommendation and after reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor. All the reviews rave about the great host, Sara. She was very helpful in provided a strategy on how we could maximize our time in Roma without getting drained/exhausted. Although she doesn't stay at the location all day, she is easily accessible (for emergencies only!) on a cellphone. Her dog, Coco, was also a great hit! Our room was really cute in a pink-sorta-way and quite clean. There's was a table with 2 chairs and a refrigerator (very helpful in storing some of the extra food items we couldn't finish from the hearty breakfast... we ended up snacking on these throughout the day). The shower is the standard small size from what I saw from the other locations we stayed at in Italy, so no complaints there- just a warning if someone of larger-girth decides to visit, may have difficulty fitting in the showers. The location is fantastic, so close to Termini and access to other metro stations. Plus, you can just walk to Colosseum /Roman Forum/Palatine HIll, Spanish Steps, really all the other sites. It's also near a few grocery stores/delies and restaurants are plentiful nearby. I'm not sure how much other B&B's are charging near Termini, so I can't say if I was overcharged or not; regardless, the service was excellent (from booking online, providing directions/instructions prior to our trip, to answering our questions at arrival and at check-out).
