Gulliver's Lodge was a bit hard to find, initially, but once found it was an island of solace in frenzied Rome.

Be sure that, if you take the Leonardo Express from the FCO airport to Roma Termini, you exit the terminal through the Gates 1-24 area where all the shopping and ticket machines are. We exited at the first exit near gates 25-29, and immediately were lost. After leaving the express train, you have to follow the tracks down a long walkway to the other end of the station. Once there, finding Via Cavour is an easy task (right at the end of the Termini station). Walking after dark with luggage was a bit intimidating at first, but we saw people doing this the entire time we were in Rome. You can also take the metro train from Termini to Via Cavour station, which makes the walk a little shorter.

The room was a bit small, or rather "European", in size. But, after a good night's sleep, we found it perfectly-sized. It held all our luggage and was easy to get into and out of. The shower was a bit cramped for me (6 feet tall), but it was warm and worked well. Everything was immaculately clean, and breakfast was awesome each morning. There was more food and drink than we could eat; and, Sara even prepared us breakfast for the morning we had to leave early for our flight home. Their private airport shuttle service is well worth your time, especially if you have an early flight out. It will run you about 45-50 Euro, depending on your confirmed shuttle arrival time.

The best part of the entire stay was our hostess Sara, though. She was so thoughtful and helpful during our trip. We were greeted with a smiling face, even when we arrived late the first night (we got lost, see above about Termini station). She allowed us to go over all the paperwork and passport requirements the next day, when we were rested. She greeted us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates the next night, and she took the time to help us plan our 2 days in Rome to see the most we possibly could. Staying here was worth every penny for Sara's helpful and gracious attitude.

We would definitely recommend Gulliver's Lodge while in Rome. And, make sure you try the gelato shop just outside the front door -- it was better than most of the others in the guide books and very convenient.

Gulliver's Lodge B&B exceeded our expectations for a 2-night quick stay in Rome. We had a secure room in a secure building with many nice ammenities and the owner took the time to sit down with us and map out a plan to see the best of Rome on foot and public transportation given our timeframe and budget. Oh yeah, and the breakfast was killer --- enough food for breakfast and to pack for a light lunch!

Great accomodation, great host and fantastic experience. We would definitely recommend this B&B if you are looking for somewhere central, with excellent customer service and fab breakfasts (which I think can be hard to come by after listening to people who had stayed in different Hotels in Rome).

The room was really pleasant, comfortable and quiet - with a mediterranean feel. It had good facilities (fridge, satellite TV, DVD player & safe) and Simon´s help was invaluable....his advice and recommendations meant we were able to hit Rome as tourists within half an hour of arriving. Go to the restaurants he tells you about...fab food at good prices.

Free access to internet, dvd´s and books all added to our stay...

We felt very at home and Simon´s special touches really helped us to relax and enjoy our time in Rome.

We wouldn´t stay anywhere else! Thanks again for a great holiday.

We booked with Simon due to all of the good reviews on the internet and were not disapointed. Simon was a very gracious host and was instrumental in helping us plan our vaction and even finding other places for us to stay in italy.

We HIGHLY recomend staying with Simon!

Simon was an excellent host, welcoming us in the early afternoon with a cheery demeanor. Although we had researched most of what we wanted to do, Simon graciously offered to help us plan our stay to maximize our experience, and he gave us insight on some things about Rome we were not privy to. His insight was very helpful, and the information he has available for his guests is quite substantial.

Gullivers' location can hardly be beat for anyone wanting to stay in or near the heart of Rome. Minutes from the train in a nice area, and a short walk to everything in the Ancient City. My wife and I run a lot, and it was very easy to head out in the morning and reach the Circus or the Tiber River trail for runs ranging from 4-14 miles.

The breakfast Simon served were delicious, satisfying, and gave us a great start to our day. He even had breakfast prepared early on our departure day (6AM) so that we could eat before heading out.

You will not be disappointed with Gulliver's Lodge.
