I've stayed just for a night in a single room.
The room had a shower and a washbasin.
I booked the room in Venere, where they explained about the timetable of the breakfast. As they gave information about it, it was clear to me that it was included, but it wasn't.
The reception is in another building, so you have to go down, cross a hall, go up, check in, get the keys, go down, cross the hall, go up, go into your room, and the same thing when you have to check out. Rather uncomfortable.
They didn't have change when I payed the room, so I had to go next morning when I check out to get it, but they didn't have it either.
The room was clean, it had some shampoo, plastic glass, etc.
It had air conditioning that didn't work, so I had to open the window, when I did so as it was a first floor it was very noisy, so I slept with the tv on in order to avoid listening all the noises that came from the people ouside.
I will definetly come back because it has the cheapest price in Rome, close to Termini station. It was clean. I guess that for the price I payed it was ok.

  • Liked — Place, close to Roma Termini
  • Disliked — Reception is not in the hotel. There is a lift, but there are also stairs. Breakfast wasn't included although in Venere it seemed to e included

We walked past it before realizing it was part of a bunch of pensiones in a building. The only obvious sign is one which says HOTELS. Inside the building are 6 hotels, each floor of the building is its own hotel. The room looked very new. It was comfortable and had its own shower and toilette.

To get in, we had to go to the registration desk of a different hotel on the opposite side of the building, trying to use an elevator which did not work. We walked up stairs to the reg desk at the Luna Hotel, checked in for the Orbis Hotel, and got our keys. The elevator worked going down, but not going up.

The Orbis hotel has a lot of security cameras, and they buzz you into the entry. Orbis hotel appears to be a set of 10 rooms on one floor of a building. We paid 72 euros at Venere for the night. It is 2 blocks from the train station. If you walk outside the trainstation it would be exactly 2 blocks behind the McDonalds if you could walk thru walls. It is across the street from the hotel California, assuming you are facing both the Hotel California and the cheap internet-long distance calling stores.

I called USA from the cheap long distance calling store, and talked for a few minutes. The rate was 6 cents per minute. My 9 minute call costed me only 54 cents total.

Since this is only 2 blocks from Rome Central Station (also called Termini) it is in a BAD neighborhood. There are pickpockets and purse snatchers everywhere. Someone snatched our diet coke thinking it was a money wallet.

  • Liked — Price was great considering the room looked brand new
  • Disliked — BAD neighborhood filled with pickpockets and purse snatchers

Hotels in Rome are very expensive, so I did a Google search of the cheapest ones in the heart of the city. I found the Orbis hotel through Venere, and although it didn't have any reviews, it was the cheapest inside Rome and very close to Termini Station. I was a bit worried about the cleanliness and safety, but didn't think too much about it.

When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect, two blocks from Termini Station and very easy to find, located in a historic building, on the first floor, I arrived at the check in desk. There was no one there but I rang the bell. A nice lady said that I had to check in through Hotel Dina. Apparently, a couple of hotels based in the same building are run by the same family. There is the Hotel Dina on the left side of the building, and Hotel Orbis on the right side. I got a map, my key and went straight up to my room.

It was small but had a comfy bed, bedside table with lamp, a sink with mirror, a spacious wardrobe, a desk, a TV and a phone. The ceiling was very high so in reality the room felt spacious. A huge window with a little balcony area overlooking the patio of the building was at the end of my bed.

Overall, the room was extremely clean. I was provided with the hotel essentials such as shampoo, shower caps, etc. Linen (body, hand and face towels) were also provided. I took a room with separate bathroom and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was immaculately clean as well, if not a bit too small.

On my first night I didn't hear any noises but on the second night a noisy family checked in and I could hear everything. I had read some reviews before so I knew to take my ear tampons. I put them on and slept like a baby.

The only two bad things about the hotel were that you could hear people if they were noisy.. or doors closing. In my corridor there were only 3 - 4 rooms and not many people, so it felt like I had "the house" to myself. The bathroom's cleanliness didn't change even when the family used it before me, but that really depends on the other guests' hygiene.

Breakfast was offered in a nice dining environment, but I didn't have any.

Overall, I thought this was a great place to stay in. I really appreciated the location, which was spot-on. It took me literally 3 minutes to walk to Termini Station and the metro, and so many bus lines pass by the hotel too. There was a bar a few steps from the Hotel and room cleaning every day.

I gave it 4 stars for the great value.

  • Liked — The great location, the cleanliness, the homey-cosy feeling about it
  • Disliked — That i could hear the noisy family that checked in after me - I got my ear tampons and it was fine.
