Direction of the Hotel from the Train Station:
When you alight from your train in the Stazione Termini in Rome, walk straight up the platform without taking any diversions. You will reach the end of the platform. Turn right and come out of the station. Cross the street in front of you and turn left and walk along the pavement. The third building on that pavement is Hotel Marsala.
Don't be enticed by the taxis that will offer you to take you to this hotel for which they charge anything between 20-30 Euros. It will hardly take 3-4 mins. of walking from the station.
Rooms are clean and linen is changed daily but you will not like the general outlook of the rooms. They are shabby. Furthermore the hotel has got only three rooms with attached bathrooms, the rest are without.
Breakfast is considerably good compared to breakfast in other properties of the same rent in European countries. In this regard the hotels in Asian countries are far superior and their breakfast spreads are overwhelming.

I was not sure what to expect as some of the reviews were a little dodgy but I was pleasently surprised. From the outside it does not look great but once you're inside it's grand. It's cheap and it's right beside the main train station which was perfect for an early morning train. The rooms were quite big and spotless, but the beds were'nt great. Very soft. But overall I would recomend this hotel for a shotr stay.

“Good Hotel and Location”

Found this hotel to be excellent value for money in Rome. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast typical continental but good. Staff not over friendly but alway polite and willing to help if you ask. We had problems with our shower one night and they offered to move us to another room we decided to stay were put and the shower was fixed first thing next morning. Location is great as it is just across the street to where the buses from the airport drop off and right by the main railway station and underground. People do say not to stay in this area around the train station but this is the 4th time we have stayed in this area and we have never had any trouble. You do see tramps in the doorways etc but if you ignore them they are no trouble. Also food and drink in this area is cheaper than other areas of Rome.

We did not have big expectations for our hotels in Europe but we were pleasently surprised by this one. The room was spacious and had its own (clean) bathroom. It is very near the train station and the area where the tour buses pick up/drop off. Breakfast was included (coffee and bread). Be careful, we were pick pocketted by a group of women (during the day). I would not suggest going out much at night in the area.

We (me and wife) spent 3 nights at Hotel Marsala in Rome. The positives are : proximity to termini ( which is an excellent thing), but the rooms are small and really not very comfortable if you are looking to relax at the end of the day - you feel sorrounded by walls & no a/c. Would still recommend if your main requirement from the room is only bed and breakfast. The hotel and rooms were very clean and sheets changed daily. No problem with service.
