This boutique hotel is situated in a very central location for all main attractions and tickets for entry and tours can be obtained at reception. Once occupied by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and hence the name. Located on third floor of building and inconspicuous from the street this charming hotel is a gem. Ingredients for a simple breakfast or snacks are provided in the bedroom at small cost. No restaurant but there are many located near by. The decor is quite individual with a lot of artefacts displayed but this adds to the character. Guide books are provided and staff are very helpful in providing information and making guests feel welcome. Individual service is a plus. The foot and back massager in the room are welcome at the end of a long day exploring the treasures of the city.

The Hotel Barrett is one of a kind. The interior resembles a museum of paintings and sculptures. Located on the Largo Argentina in Rome, it is within walking distance of many historic attractions and good restaurants. Access to the bus is right outside the door. The management couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. And the price is definitely right, considering its wonderful location.

The owners are very gentle and friendly and give great advice for visiting interesting "not so famous" touristic sites. The lobby is a small museum in itself and book of arts are available to the clients. The room is small but very clean and super technological including items like electric massage, Jacuzzi shower, everything for a good breakfast and air conditioning. The location is optimal, close to every spot in the very centre of Rome, but also very quiet. The rooms ara a bit overcrowded with baroque furniture. Taking away some decorative items could give more space to the room.

I spent 3 nights here as a first time visitor to Rome. It was perfect for us. The location was so central. We were also just across the river from trastavere! The people in the hotel gave us a list of restaurants which were lovely (& not too touristy!). The place was spotless & the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Quirky decor & massage chairs in the rooms make for a cool stay!!

Possibly expensive, though did not compare with others as a friend recommended. Could have done with a kettle as we like to drink hot water. Coffee and tea made in a machine and charged for. Easy to get to and walking distance to all sites. Very clean and comfortable. Room delightfully and unusually decorated. Good English spoken and very helpful staff.
