This was excellent! Im sick to death of hearing people complain about silly things on this site. Trevi B & B was great value for money. In the thick of things, this quiet and stylish hotel is an absolute find. We got a larger room at a special rate, but would have paid more for waht we got. It had a massive bed, stacks of room for storing our six large pieces of luggage in the entrance, fridge, safe and heavenly airconditioning. Flat screen TV was nice- all Italian , but hey- who goes on holiday to keep up with TV at home? The bathroom was a stunner, plenty of space, slick new design, and the missing plugs in the twin sinks that seem to have undone some holidays for people didnt seem to worry us. The shower was wondertful after a day of sweting in the city, a massive shower head and a hand held attachment. Toilet and bidet. There was a pair of fauteuils and a butlers tray to eat at- but we didnt bother. It overlooked a courtyard and was very quiet. The Italian breakfast was great, and once again- youre in Rome, eat like a local. Otherwise theres a MacDonalds down the road. Speaking of eating, the two restaurants on the ground floor, owned by the same people, are excellent and we ate there several times. The staff and the owner were all so nice- helpful and friendly, assisting with luggage and dramas with tours and transfers. I cant praise this accommodation enough. We will definately return to this hotel.

This is a gem. We booked a Double surperior room on Booking .com for €160 per night. Lovely room, well finished, LCD TV double sink ensuite, huge shower. Very impressed for the price. €160 seems to be about average for a room in Rome at this time of year (June)but you would usually get a shoebox for that price. This is close to Barbari (not sure of spelling)station two stops form Roma Termini. The hotel is situated less than 30secs from Trevi fountain and every monument is a stroll away. Enjoy the restaurant downstairs it is quite reasonable and lovely setting.

If you are looking for clean (albeit basic) ideally situated place to stay in Rome, then you have found it! The Trevi B&B Roma is located just round the corner from the Trevi Fountain and within walking distance of the metro, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Novona and some superb restuarants.

My friend and i had booked a twin room over the internet and on our arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to an apartment...no complaints there! The apartment consisted of two rooms, one with a double bed and the other with a single and sofa bed and plenty of wardrobe space.

The apartment was cleaned everyday and the staff were extremely helpful.

The breakfast was basic but nice.....cornflakes, cakes, cheese, ham, yoghurts etc.....

I would definately stay there again!

If you value the clean lines of modern taste over plush luxury, this is the place for you. The photo's on the internet are exactly what you will get: wooden ceilings and stylish textiles in greys, browns and cream. I especially liked the oak floors since in Italy houses useally have granito or marble floors (a bit cold in April). The bathrooms were especially beautiful with two showers with plenty hot water day and night (which is often a problem in Roman hotels). The rooms and bathrooms are kept spotlessly clean. We stayed in room 206 which is the smallest room of the 6 rooms (last photo on their website). To be honest the room was quite small with only a small window facing a dull innercourt. You could barely walk between but the bed and the wall. The bed itself and the great bathroom made up for this. We asked whether they had a larger room and where kindly offered room 205, which was larger and had a wardrobe, but was darker and had a much smaller bathroom (with no window). We therefore decided to stay in 206. It was small but really quiet (and that is rare in the centre of Rome especially considering the crowds of tourists outside). However, in the future I will ask for a superior room instead of the standard. The girls at the reception were really great and went out of their way to carry our luggage, help us with maps and make reservations for restaurants and museums. Their English is flawless!
The greatest asset of this B&B is its location: within a few steps from Trevi fountain and an easy walk from virtually all the famous Roman sights and only a fairly short one to the underground (to the Vatican or Villa Borghese). The centre of Rome is bustling with tourists and this is very lively we were glad for our quiet retreat.
What I do not understand is the negative reports on the Italian breakfast on this site by Anglo-Americans. The buffet breakfast was adapted to their taste and had cereals, cheese and ham/ salami. There were also 3 or 4 cakes to choose from all home made. This seems strange but not if you consider that most Italians breakfast only on biscuits dipped in their cappuccino and their stomachs turn even thinking of ham or eggs!! Italian cakes are a bit dry to our taste but very good. It is funny that Italian and Spanish travellers to Trevi B&B rave about the choice of cakes. So in Rome do as the Romans, and if you really can't do without a hearty breackfast go to a hotel catered to international tastes or any bar and take a sandwich.
Talking about food: the Tamerici restaurant at the corner (run by the same owner) is really worth trying. It is a bit more upmarket than the 'Chianti' downstairs but there are more locals and the food superb. All in all I would really recommend this B&B to my friends.

  • Liked — decor, quietness, staff, the Tamarici restaurant and the location, location. location!
  • Disliked — the stairs (no elevator) and that the room 206 was very small

We have just returned from a long weekend in Rome. Booked the Trevi B&B Roma on the internet, and had a lovely time. On arriving to the B&B, it is not easy to find as it is on the first and second floor above restaurant "il chianti". We were looking a bit lost outside, map in hand, when the friendly owner came to greet us. Our room was excellent, very good size, very clean with modern décor, fantastic bathroom, and comfortable bed. A bit hot though, needed the windows open – my eyeliner melted! We were very impressed. This was the best room we have stayed in all European cities. It felt secure, as you could only get through the main door with a swipe card, and through another locked door onto our corridor.

The location of the b&b couldn’t be better (although could be more visible), just a few steps from the Trevi fountain and within walking
distance of the pantheon, piazza novana, and metro station (Barberini
- 1 euro to get to the Vatican, well worth it). There are loads of restaurants nearby. We would recommend “l’archetto” restaurant, on via del archetto 5 minutes from the hotel. The restaurant is very popular, and people were being turned away by 8 o clock, we were lucky to get the last table. Good value meals, and excellent spaghetti!! Very extensive menu to choose from, including vodka spaghetti for the adventurous. If you fancy some drinks at night, we went to the pantheon and piazza novana areas, where we found a handful of nice pubs/bars, it is expensive though (12 euros for a pint and vodka-lemonade was the going rate). There did not seem to be
many pubs/bars around the Trevi area. We had a coffee on piazza novana, which came to 14 euros! “News café” again just 5 minutes from Trevi fountain (if that) was a great find. Friendly staff , reasonable prices, lovely coffees and cheesecakes and nice outdoors seating area.

It we were being picky, we would say that the breakfast could have been better in terms of choice – it was all cake, cake and more cake!! Don’t know if this is a normal Italian breakfast? Not particularly appealing on a morning. Although what you did get was nice. It was a bit of a hassle on the first morning asking for milk for my cornflakes – the maid lady told me to use fruit yogurt!! But she got there in the end. Suppose it would have helped if I’d have learnt the Italian word for ‘milk’.

This B&B is not for people who like a good view- our room looked out onto a tatty building. But I have to say that the room was so great that this did not bother us at all. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.
