Having read the other reviews on here, this hotel seemed to be the best option for us, once we got there we were definitely not disappointed!! The location was fantastic (literally on the Spanish Steps!), we were walking distance to the most of the main attractions and just 3 stops on the metro from the vatican. The room was better than we'd expected and much larger (don't be fooled by the reviews that say the rooms are small), the bathroom was immaculate and all the little touches made it even better. the rooms were extremely clean and very very comfortable.
All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had booked an evening flight back and they let us stay in the room for most of the day (even though check-out was earlier). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of visiting Rome. I honestly couldn't fault a thing, and would definitely stay there again!

The only thing that put a downer on the trip was our flight back being cancelled, due to the snow, but again the Guest Relations Manager was brilliant and immediately booked us into another room (into Internatiozional Dormus) which was on the 3rd floor, again the room was lovely (slightly smaller than the one downstairs) but nonetheless of the same immaculate condition and cleanliness.

What I would say to anyone going to Rome for the first time is when you do go out to eat check the prices on the menus as one of the cafe's tried to charge us 60 euros for a plate of Spaghettie and an omelette. Eating and drinking is exceptionally expensive (between 6-10 euros for a glass of coke or orange juice). But apart from that, fantastic hotel, and we had a brilliant time!

This was the least expensive hotel and least fancy from our trip to Italy, but it was by far my favorite. The hotel is in a great location. We walked everywhere but to the Vatican.
The hotel was wonderful in their service even before arriving. They made arrangements for transportation from the airport, a vatican tour with a private guide and offered wonderful dinner recommendations for my birthday.
Upon arrival, they met us at the door and took us straight to our room. The room was the quad room with 2 bedrooms and one and a half baths. I can't tell you how clean it was. Just immaculate. Included in the minimal price were robes and slippers. I love slippers in a hotel. We had the room with the balcony overlooking Piazza di Spagna. I quite enjoyed our view.
Although the hotel did not include or have facilities for breakfast, coffee and pastries were just a short walk away.
The only thing missing was perhaps a comfy chair. The only chair in the room was the desk chair.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I went to Rome with my wife and daughter. We made our own travel arrangements so needed a hotel in a central location but not costing the earth. We were quite certain of what we were looking for. Priorities being, location, cleanliness, cost, good reviews and not paying for facilities that we wouldn't use. We certainly hit the target with all of these. The hotel is situated on the first floor of an old but tastefully and classily decorated building. The staff are very pleasant, attentive and obliging. We had the triple room which was right opposite receiption and hardly heard any noise when we went to bed. The room was perfectly adequate and the bathroom, (don't forget I'm travelling with two females), needed to be good and it was better than good. You come out of your hotel door and you are on the street at the bottom of the Spanish Steps and 50 yards away from the Metro. Other major sites are close by within walking distance. One word of caution though and that's be prepared for excessive food and drink prices in restaraunts. Some charging as much as twelve euros for a bottle of local beer. Pizza is as good as anything and McDonalds is cheap enough as often as you can manage it. Travelling in January is great to avoid the crowds and as long as you dress warm you'll be fine. The hotel have big umbrellas that you can take out if it rains. A nice touch I thought. An open top bus tour is about 18 euro for one day and 24 for two and is a great way to get around - hop on and hop on. Pick the red buses. Far more reliable and better equiped than the others.

  • Liked — Location - it was ideal
  • Disliked — They on occasion tried to push their own taxis and the green buses where there were better alternatives.

We (2 adults and 2 small kids) have visited Rome between December 31 and January 3. After quit extensive search we have decided to stay in Relais Pierret. Honestly speaking it was excelent choice. We where staying in Fattori deluxe suite. It was clean, equiped reasonably good and fully satisfied our needs.
Location of the hotel is superb, which is especially important when you are travelling with small children. Spanish Steps are just few meters from hotel, as well few other places of interest is in walking distance + metro station just around the corner.
Great hotel and I recomend it for others.

My husband and I just returned from an amazing 7 days in Rome to celebrate New Years Eve and have a romantic holiday. I did a lot of reseach on hotels in Rome as i have visited Rome many times but have always stayed with relatives far from the city so I wanted the best location and a comfortable room for 7 days.
After reading all the positive reviews on trip advisor i chose the Relais Pierret for location and the size of the room. Neither one disappointed us.
From beginning to end the hotel offered excellent service from their very quick replies to my emails and their useful information on restaurants etc in Rome.
The hotel was at first hard to find as we had an airline car transfer that dropped us off at the wrong hotel but if you are facing the spanish steps its the building to your left with the boutique Furla next to the large front doors that lead to the 8 quaint rooms on level 1 of the building.
Our room was larger than expected - the bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in - it consisted of 2 twin beds which I think are zipped together to form one large very comfortable bed with 4 pillows (2 firm and 2 soft).
The bathroom had 2 separate basins and were separated by another door so you had his/her bathrooms - one had the bathtub and basin and the other room had the toilet, bidet and basin. Again another reason why i would stay at this hotel again.
The ceilings were around 18 feet high which gave us a greater feeling of space.
We were fortunate not to have any loud guests during our stay as you can hear the footsteps down the corridor and any chatting but this would not deter us from staying here.
Rome during New Years Eve is amazing.... the atmosphere is incredible and the weather was cold and clear so we were able to spend the night ouside at the open air concert ouside of the Colosseum and then sit at the Fountain of Trevi at 2am eating pizza and drinking campari. An unforgettable night.
It was comforting returning to our hotel each evening to our lovely room which felt like home after 7 days.
I dont think you can find a better location than the Spanish steps for sightseeing, restaurants, the best shopping in the city and the Metro was 1 minute walk from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples and singles.
