I recently stayed at the Domina hotel for a business trip because of work activities close to the hotel location. I had a two room suite for the accommodation. Good creature comforts within the room. The only downside is an expensive and somewhat slow internet connection when using your personal laptop. They also offer an in-room computer setup providing internet access but this option is extremely slow. You also must choose between personal laptop or in room computer for internet as you cannot use both for just one price. The free breakfast in the morning offers ample opportunity to cover your basic eating habits.
The hotel has a local arrangement for reasonable taxi rides to and from the airport. We were able to fit four + luggage into a station wagon cab to Fiumicino airport for only 60EURO total. As noted in previous reviews, the hotel bus does go to the metro/downtown area but the scheduling is somewhat inconvenient and you could end up going by the Ciampino airport enroute adding on to the total trip time. Otherwise, the public buses 654 and 664 offer good connections to the metro and then the metro takes you near most of the tourist sites. Both the bus and metro had reasonably safe atmospheres and cost about 4E for a 24hour pass.

In summary, a decent hotel but not a convenient location to downtown.

Hotel in quiet neighborhood, great price at 80 Euro, stayed 2 nights got 3rd night free. Room was very elegant and well appointed. Breakfast was included and comparable to cruise ship in variety of foods; fresh pastry, meats, eggs, fruit, great coffee and espresso, we loved it. Interesting local restaurants near by, especially Italian and Cuban. Hotel south of city, provided shuttle bus (see photo) delivery and pick up from train station and metro, made travel into Rome and back a snap every day, and only 1 Euro.
Only one negative. The answers from staff to questions about when the pool (closed entire stay) would open, varied from "it is not currently legal to use the pool" to "closed for cleaning."

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend break in Rome.
The first thing to be aware of is that this hotel offers transfers to and from Ciampino airport only. If you're flying into the larger Fiumicino airport its a bit of a trek to get to this hotel and a taxi will be expensive (some tourists we met had paid a whopping 145 Euros for a one way trip from the airport).
Just for the record (and the fact that the hotel's web site doesn't say so) you can get to the hotel by:
Getting the Leonardo express train from the airport to Termini station in the centre of Rome and then taking the Linea A metro line south to Colli Albani (or Arco de Travertino but Colli Albani is closer). From the metro station you then have to take the 664 bus (which stops right outside the metro station and only goes one way from Colli Albani). Tell the driver that you need to get to the Domina hotel and he'll stop at the right place for you.
The hotel itself if very clean, has extremely comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff and a decent enough breakfast (although get down early as they do run out of things throughout the morning).

The aircon does require your key card to be inserted so the room can be a little warm when you arrive back at night, but it does cool off soon enough.

Wifi is available at a cost (15 Euros a day or 3 Euros an hour when we stayed) and the television in the room is limited to one channel unless your Italian is good.

The bus/metro ride into town each day was not too problematic and takes about 30 minutes or so (its advisable to use the public bus rather than the hotel's transfer as the hotel bus drops off and picks up at Ciampino airport first and takes an age to get to the metro).

The area around the hotel has a lively Cuban restaurant and a very inexpensive super market (just turn left out of the front doors).

All in all I was extremely pleased with the hotel, after the trek from the airport had been negotiated.

My husband and I stayed here and we loved it. The rooms were very nice and the staff was great.
Breakfast was an american style buffet that included scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, brioche, cake, juice, etc. We ate enough to hold us over to lunch time!
The only negative for this hotel is that it's a little ways outside the city (which is what we wanted) but the bus stop to return to the hotel was on a busy four lane highway. Also, there was only one restaurant in walking distance and so if we didn't eat dinner in Rome center, there was only one option for us to eat. I enjoyed the restaurant (Hotel Girasole) but after a few days, the menu was no longer exciting.
Overall, I think this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay here again!

I visited Rome for a 5-day trip with friends and found this place as a way to save on hotel and also see what else Rome has to offer other than the central area.
First, the hotel is situated about 10 miles out of the central city. The location seems calm, local and residential. A few restaurants (a Cuban, a Pizzeria, and an italian) are nearby. Definitely worth the short walk.
There's really no need for renting a car as the Hotel offers a shuttle at 50 cents (euro) to several transportation centers, including the subway. Also, a block away is a bus stop and its very easy to navigate in them buses. A bus pass is only 1 euro (for 75 minutes) and also covers the subway.
The staff speaks English and are extremely helpful. They can connect you to any type of tour or service. The rooms are good. They are clean and comfy, yet small. The beds are small and very close to one another but they are comforntable. Each room offers a flat screen tv, but very few channels and the only American channel is CNN, which can be boring after 5 minutes. Also, the internet isn't too good to use, but if you're desperate, try it at 7 euro for 24 hours.
The restroom is fine in space, however, the shower has no shower curtain and you depend on a glass than only covers 1/4 of the shower space, so make sure you place lots of towels on the floor because you'll splash lots of water during showers.
The biggest flaw at this hotel is the food. We ordered room service once from the hotel restaurant and the food was terrible. However, the hotel offers free breakfast every morning and that at least taste good.
Well if you do want to visit Rome and would like to see what people in Rome are all about and save money while you're at it, then stay here. The place is nice and away from the fast-pace central part of Rome. Just understand that it takes at least 20 minutes to get to the inner city from the hotel using the various transportation methods.

Take advantage of the city tours offered. They are usually 19-20 euro for 24 hours... pay 5 euro more and get 48 hours. They are hop-on-hop-off, so they are very convenient and they cover areas not reachable by subway. The buses come around every 20-30 minutes, so they give you plenty of time to visit every destination and in Rome there are many, many spots to visit and take a ton of pictures.
The City is beautiful and rich in history. Also, every salesperson and souvenir stand speaks and/or understands english, so visiting Rome is a simple task for any American.
