“Excellent Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Our stay at this hotel was very good!! The rooms are spacious the bed perfect and the bathroom new. I agree with other viewers that the rest of the hotel needs a rennovation as the furniture are quite old but that is not of any importance as long as the room is good. The staff was very helpful and polite. The only thing is that since it is not in the centre of city you take the bus offered by the hotel, you go to the nearest area (Colli Albani) and you take the Metro to go to the city centre. The whole travelling time is 30 minutes which is not bad and the cost is only 1,50 each person for the bus and the train (one way) duration of 100 munites. You can take also the public bus No. 664 or 663 which takes you to the Colli Albani and you can get the tickets from the market behind the hotel. Breakfast was not whuao but sutisfactory. It had the essentials which you need to start your day and it cost only 6 euro per person. Overall I would for sure stay again at Capannelle hotel.

Our stay in this hotel was really nice. Very nice big and open rooms, with bathtub and huge bed!
there are some minor topics to mention just as the hotel hasn't got a body lotion or other ammenities if you have forgotten, but the staff is really nice and fluent in english, very helpfull, they explained how to take the bus, how to reach the city.
The only think to consider is that the shuttle is usually full, so don't hope to get a place on it, there's a bus station less than a block away tat goes directly to the metro station.
the place is quite, and you can sleep comfortably. They have this bif bathtub, but don't forgetr to ask for the "tapo" at the reception.
The breakfast is served in the big room on the underground, and it's ok, warm and cold beverages, The warm food is the traditional egg, bacon and salsiccia. but there's a nice variety of bread, and pastries.
the restaurant is good and the price is standard price, very tasty preparations.
I would recommend htis place as it is just as described here, but still 4 stars I would say as most of the things work properly.
Locatios was perfect for us travelling with a car as we wanted to avoid the city center, so this hotel with a huge parking was th eperfect option to move around with the ticket "giornaliero" or the Roma pass.

Room Tip: Avoid Rooms in the main floor as everybody pass by to take the elevator,

I have to agree with one of the reviewers that with a considerable amount of things in the hotel in need od renovation the standard of this hotel is lower than 4 stars.... I saw the broken pieces of furniture and equipment with my own two eyes... Still, with the staff fluent in English and so polite and helpful we are more than satisfied with what we received for the money we paid (via Booking.com). I would recommend the hotel in the off-season period to anyone interested in visiting Rome and having a nice rest in the evenings and good breakfasts in the mornings.
And Grazie mille! to the staff for the readiness to help and with the making of the brithday cake for my husband - you made the day very special for us!

The hotel was really clean..not too far from the city centre.. and whats even more interesting is that a free shuttle is provided. Breakfast was nice..with variety at the open buffet.

Location wise it looks a bit shady, down some quieter streets however the hotel is lovely! A 5 min walk from the bus stop on the main road, some nice places to eat behind it altho again looks a bit dodgy however we had no issues. A great stop in Rome.

We stayed twice during the summer and found this hotel to be of good value. The breakfast was exceptional with a variety of goodies that satisfied everyone in our family. Location is convenient if you have a car as the main highway was minutes away. We were able to find most of the attractions without getting lost. The hotel has a pool and kept the children busy, there is also free parking which is difficult to find in Rome. The rooms were spacious and clean. The lobby and foyer area appeared tired and the carpet was soiled in many areas. Overall I would recommend this hotel to families and anyone who has a car.

Room Tip: don't stay on the main floor as there is a foul odor.

We have been there for five nights (including) new year's eve. It is a big hotel with nice comfortable rooms, a nice place to go back after a busy day in Rome. The BIG problem with this hotel is LOCATION and SERVICE. The staff was neither friendly nor mean they just seemed unwilling to do something more than check in and check out. For example, they had no suggestions about how to plan your day in Rome, no information about the public transformation and generally it feels more like room renting rather than booking a 4 star hotel. The shuttle bus from the hotel to the nearest metro station is a joke! it is a mini van of 8 sits for a hotel of 250 rooms making only 3 rides in the morning and 2 in the evening. For five days we used public bus 663 664 and 654 to access the Metro station the problem is that they come only once every 35 - 40 minutes and it takes from 20 to 35 minutes ride passing from all little streets of the aerea. This is too much of a lost time twice a day. I would advice people to book hotels in a walking distance from Metro stations. On new year's eve the bus services stop at 21.00 (noone informed us from the hotel) and the hotel staff didn't care to call taxi so we had to walk 3,5km. Breakfast was OK, big variety but not of really good quality, big sellection of frozen pastries, 3 choices of cold meat, 1 choice of cheese, eggs only scrambled, no fresh juice, no fresh marmelades, no fresh fruits. The rooms as I said are nice comfortable and clean, changing sheets and towels every day. Bathroom amenities are just a soap bar and a shower gel, no shampoo, no cotton tabs, no body lotion (and believe me for low cost airline travellers this is very important coz we can't carry with us our personal things) and I would expect from a 4 star hotel to provide these amenities. Last but not least the biggest problem for us was WiFi, we couldn't connect for the whole 5 days and noone seemed to care about it and it was really important for us because we couldn't plan our day in Rome since no informations were given from the reception. This hotel might be nice for group travellers who have their own bus and guide, I wouldn't suggest it to people travelling alone because you are really on your own, no information given from the hotel and WiFi not working and all the lost hours waiting the public bus to access the Metro makes it less than a pleasant stay!
