We went to Rome for Wales' match in the Six Nations, so we wanted a cheap base.
This hotel is a sweetie, based in an old palazzo, just off the Via Nazionale, but once through the door it is modern and pristine. Some reviewers criticise Italian streets, but if you go to an ancient city, ancient streets are part of the charm. The entrance led to a courtyard, complete with little fountain, wide doorways leading to marble stairs, with an ancient lift to one side. Bathrooms were lovely and there was a decent continental breakfast.
I would stay there again, even though we were locked out one tired afternoon.
