My husband and I spent a month in the Trilussa suite, and could have stayed a lifetime. The apartment was more spacious than others I researched, and still one of the best values. It also had a separate (large!) bedroom, shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, microwave, washer, and secure wireless Internet access--amenities not available in many properties in this price range. The building was secure, nights were blissfully quiet, and nearby were restaurants, bakeries, a greengrocer, supermarket, tabacchi (for bus tickets), coffee bars...everything we needed. Just a few minutes walk across the Tiber put us in easy reach of most sights, or we could hop a bus to access those farther away (i.e. Borghese gardens, Vatican, Ostia Antica, EUR). The owners live on-site and are tremendous resources: an American expat married to a native Trasteverino, both English-speaking and very knowledgeable about Italy, its customs and culture. They've furnished the apartment comfortably and left lots of written instructions for unfamiliar appliances. Really Rome's website accurately depicts its furnishings and features. Weekly cleaning and linen changes are included and a lending library in the stairwell offers travel guides, books on history, art and language, DVDs, games, and maps. The use of a prepaid cell phone was handy for making reservations. We wanted to live in a real neighborhood rather than the tourist center and have a quiet retreat from the city at night. This apartment in Trastevere was the perfect solution.

We were absolutely thrilled upon our arrival at Really Rome. We stayed in the Trilussa suite, and there was not a thing that we didn't love (hate to use double negatives, but you get the idea). Shelley has struck a balance between being there in case you need ANYTHING without ever being intrusive. We felt like we were real Romans, wandering the streets where we "lived."

The attention to detail in the apartments is unsurpassed. The chocolates on the pillows, the hairdryer (YAY! It actually had some power!), the list of favorite restaurants, the maps for the specific neighborhood with all important locations marked (post office, pharmacy, etc...), the travel books and fun reading books, the instructions on how to use the moka, the stocked kitchen with basic essentials, the washer (heaven-sent). It was all beyond amazing. The rooms were huge, and could have been decorated with odds and ends, but there was a real feeling of "home" to the spaces due to the decorative touches that were added.

The apartment was extremely quiet, and the bed heavenly. We love, love, loved our stay at Really Rome, and we would recommend it to absolutely anyone that we knew! Don't miss out on your opportunity to stay in a lovely apartment and have more amenities than you'd have in a hotel!

What a delight it was!

Our Really Rome apartment- Trilussa- provided a cool, comfortable haven after the hectic pace of Rome sightseeing. Light and airy, it was a quiet cool place; the air-conditioner in the bedroom was reassuring to have, but in fact we didn't need to use it.
Shelley was a wonderful 'host' with accurate local knowledge, and a great eye for detail in terms of how the apartment was equipped and furnished. The generous supplies of basics such as toiletries, laundry detergent, a shopping trolley, loo paper, tissues made our arrival stress free.
Trastavere was a great location: very central, but you felt like you were living amongst the locals. At night, there was plenty of choice of restaurants, all within easy walk of the apartment. We travelled with our bags by tram from the train station when we arrived, and then by tram and train to Fumico airport when we flew out- saved us lots of euros, and with Shelley's accurate instructions, very easy.
We'll definitely return!

We stayed for a week in the Belli Suite of Really Rome Apartments in June of this year. From the time we arrived, over-tired and overwhelmed after 13hours of travelling, we felt at home in this apartment. Shelley, the owner, was lovely - very welcoming and friendly and happy to show us around the apartment, how to operate the necessary appliances and answer any questions, however silly they may have been.

The apartment was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen contained all appliances and equipment necessary for cooking, though I have to admit not a lot of that happened as there were so many great eating places nearby, including a restaurant below the apartment. There was a front loading washing machine in the bathroom.

What we were really taken with was all the small touches around the apartment such as the basket of snack foods plus a recipe and some ingredients to whip up an authentic Italian meal. There was also a bottle of wine, which had been selected by the owners. The small blocks of chocolate on our pillows, on arrival, certainly won me over. There was a mobile phone that we could use if we wished, lots of tourist maps, a folder containing really important information such as restaurant recommendations, where the nearest internet points were, the supermarket, etc.

For anyone planning a holiday in Rome, I would definitely recommend these apartments.

Absolutelly fantastic, more than I expected and imagined would be. Shelley, the owner, was a fantastic hostess who welcomed us on our arrival and was gracious and patient with our numerous questions. She was easily accessible and provided us with a cell phone

The location was ideal and close to the major tourist attractions.
The apartments are sorrounded with restaurants, fruit stands, pharmacy, market, post office and near trasportation.

We truly felt at home and safe and I highly recommend the accomodations for anyone who wants to experience an independent stay in Rome.
