our travel agent recommended this hotel to us... we stayed in the town home suites one little block over from the front desk... and I struggled to find info before we left, but even on TA I was coming up with hotel Condotti and the palace (all owned by Condotti) but was having trouble finding town home suite info. so we were nervous....

we checked in at the front desk in the palace location, and he was so kind and informative. he had someone come and walk us to our room (around the corner) and help us with out bags. we opened the door to our room and it was AMAZING.

It was large (by European standards). The bathroom was beautiful and functional: maybe small to some, but perfect for us. The bed was great. My absolute favorite part was the window. It opened to bring in the sounds of the Spanish steps and wonderful air. It had a beautiful view of the beautiful little street. We opened it every night and just stood and took it all in. the room, all in all, was perfect for us. Clean, larger than average, tastefully decorated, functional. The daily breakfast buffet was right in our hallway area so it was very easy. They had juice and pastries and cappuccino…. I found it to be perfect.

And the location. It doesn’t get any better than this. We walked everywhere. Took the metro once. Its a bit of walking…. But we loved it. We saw so much and found great places along the way. The front desk offered us great ideas for dinner, wonderful suggestions… and everything was so close. This truly is the best location in Rome, in our opinion.

We will certainly stay here again if we find ourselves in Rome. We loved it so much and can not say enough about it. It was exactly what I pictured in my head as my dream Rome hotel. Its not a high-rise, Americanized hotel…. Which is why I loved it. It was a true Rome experience and I felt like we got a great taste of the Roman way of life.

sorry i dont have more pics to post!!!! wish i had taken some of the room and such. next time...

ps... if you’re planning your trip.... do NOT go to Rome without visiting Giolitti. ask for directions from the front desk. we went there everyday. it is without question the BEST GELLATO IN ROME. You should not miss out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hotel was ok but entrance to room was down the street & around the corner - felt very removed from the hotel proper. The continental breakfast was not good either. The worst experiences, however, were with the front desk manager (her name was Paula). As a result of a booking mixup between the tour operator and the hotel, payment had not been received prior to our arrival there. Although the whole issue was ultimately resolved after some two days, the way this woman treated my wife & me during this time was disgraceful. She was rude, arrogant, dismissive, and very condescending in the way she spoke to us. Instead of reassuring us (since she did have a relationship with the tour operator) that it was probably just a mixup and that she would work to resolve it, she made us feel extremely insecure about the situation, made it very clear that our credit card would be charged accordingly, and that we could then go fight with the tour operator to get our money back. Sure... of course she had to take our credit card to insure payment under the circumstances. But sometimes its not what you say but how you say it. And for two days this woman Paula made my family feel like we were dogs!. Even worse, after the situation was resolved her attitude never changed. She just continued to speak to us & behave in this tight-lipped arrogant manner and with this chip on her shoulder that was very frustring to us. There is no place for this behavior in business. The lady clearly has no capability in dealing with customers and as a Front Desk Manager is a very poor reflection of the hotel. She made our stay in Rome very distracting and for this i am quite upset. My name is David Allen. If any person of authority at Condotti Group would like to question me further about my family's experience at the Condotti Hotel, my contact information is on record at the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and have further made a formal complaint to the tour operator about our unfortunate experience there.

We stayed in the apart-hotel in Via della Croce (E225 per night deluxe double/E425 junior suite). Having read some nit-picking reviews asked for rooms on 4th floor and found rooms to be clean, comfortable and adequately sized. The front door was round the corner from the main reception but the hotel reception staff could not have been more helpful or friendly, we left our keys there all the time and therefore saw them regularly. Breakfast was in the cafe almost next door but such a short walk it really is no inconvenience and they serve a very nice pot of tea. The Condotti is an excellent base from which to explore Rome on foot. In the evening it is staggering distance to local restaurants if you’ve walked miles during the day (Otello opposite was good). Don’t miss the excellent wine bar Enotecantica (corner Via della Croce/Via Bocca di Leone) for the hospitable and friendly bar staff, pleasant ambiance and food is good there too. We recommend this hotel, it is in a great location as a base from which to explore the sights of Rome and there are so many fantastic sights to see any additional facilities would have been wasted on us.

Location of this hotel is really excellent, however, we literally had a room with NO windows. I guess there are some rooms with windows, but I really do not think that is to much to ask.
Breakfirst is in nearby caffe, which is really 3 meters from hotel doors, but, besides coffee which is excellent, pretty boring, especially taking into account what kind of wonderfull food you can have in Rome.

However, be not fooled, hotels in Rome, like in any other big city are not cheap nor much better, so if you are going for a weekend, due to location which is around the corner from Spanish steps and in the middle of shopping area, you won't be disappointed.

I took this hotel although it DID NOT have good rating on tripadvisor, upon advice of my travel agent, and I now kind of regret it, although being in hotel is not such a big thing when you are in beautyful Rome

Had a great time with the extended family at the Condotti Palace Apartments, where we stayed four nights recently. We had one suite and two double rooms, all on the fourth [and top] floor. The fourth floor has a "Roof Garden" which is actually a large, covered and airconditioned enclosed terrace, equipped with seating sofas, coffe tables etc. My granchildren had a swell time in this "family room". The terrace is open to all guests, but as the number of rooms in the property is tiny we actually had it all to ourselves. Otherwise the rooms are decent [European] sized, modern and clean. The help from the front desk at the main hotel is prompt and friendly. It is highly recommended as an "almost luxury" retreat at the heart of "Shopping Land" in Rome. Two negatives: Access in the main entrance hallway is not not suitable for people with restricted mobility, and from our experience during a previous stay you shoud try to get the fourth floor because sound insulation from the room above yours in the lower floors is inadequate.

  • Liked — location, rooms
  • Disliked — sound insulation between floors
