Stayed 3 nights. Our room was around the corner in the annex which is just as convenient as the hotel itself. The room was clean and modern and just big enough to be adequate. The bed was firm and there was plenty of hot water. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The location is near the Spanish Steps, very convenient to the Metro and within walking distance of the Forum (long walk), Pantheon, Piazza Narvone.

We booked a room at palace; and on arrival they changed it to a small dumpy room around the corner. We refused to stay there. When we asked for a refund they refusedto give one. They said when you book a room at the condotti palace they can put you in any of there other hotels. We lost about three hundred dollars. SO BEWARE

Management response from Condotti, rooms division manager
(Management representative)
Feb 25, 2008
First of all, may I say that we are always disappointed when we are unable to satisfy guests expectations. Perhaps at times it is our fault other times it is the guest or agency that makes the reservation that does not do his or her homework. resulting in false expectations. Our annexes are loaded in several reservation systems under the Condotti Palace name. There are different room types which correspond to the different properties, and of course different rates that go with each room type. The lower rates are connected to the room types which are available in both of our annexes (Antico Condotti and AL 55) around the corner. All of the information regarding the location and room types is available on the full description page. We cannot be responsible for agents or guests who do not take the time to read about where they are actually booking. People like to book the lower rates but do not think to ask themselves why the rates are lower. When we receive the booking for the annex rooms, we of course assign the rooms there as per our contract and accommodate guests there, as is reasonble for us to do. The annexes are even closer than we are to the Spanish Steps, they all have full ammenities in the rooms and the rooms are regularily cleaned and maintained. All mattresses and carpeting were changed just last year. The rooms have the same standards as our hotel rooms but they do not have their own reception desk. I must disagree with the very harsh term "dumpy" and guarantee that they are no where near being so.

Friendly and helpful staff (English speaking); breakfast in room or in "Snack Bar" across the street; reception in different building; nice modern rooms; rooms were fairly clean.

We booked via Venere, and paid €110 per night for a double room, which we found good value for money.

Disclaimer- we generally stay at less expensive hotels, but my husband was in Rome for business and so we only paid for one of three nights in this hotel (~180 €/night). This hotel is located just one street off Piazza di Spagna and placed us in an ideal location to visit this beautiful city by foot. Condotti Palace is an extension of Hotel Condotti. You check in at Hotel Condotti, but Condotti Palace has a separate entrance located around the corner. Although the entrance of the Condotti Palace is humble our room was lovely and very big. I believe we were upgraded to a suite although we booked a double. We had 1 ½ baths, a living room with flat screen TV, sofa and small balcony (interior facing) and a bedroom. The décor was very attractive and modern with exposed beams in the ceiling. We found everything very clean although the rooms were not cleaned until late in the day. The only downside of the design of the hotel was that when someone walked above us with hard soled shoes it was very loud. Unfortunately a guest came in the middle of the night in high-heeled shoes and proceeded to walk around for at least 45 mins and made it impossible to sleep. (If you stay here you may want to request a room on the top floor.) Breakfast was included and could be ordered to the room or taken in the café across the street. We recommend the continental breakfast in the main hotel if you can arrange it. We preferred the food and the cappuccino. The service was good, especially the young male concierge who worked evenings. All in all we found this hotel to be very nice as long as you are not expecting a proper lobby and other amenities outside the hotel room. However, given the price, the facilities were average with the exception of the location (fabulous) and the size of the room (but was likely a suite).

On a previous trip we had stayed at the Hotel Condotti, and had a charming experience. This time we booked at Condotti Palace, their new "ApartHotel" just around the corner. It was brand new (some construction touchup still in progress). If you are looking for an apartment --- then this is a good, clean, secure, execellently located apartment. But if you are looking for warmth, a helpful front-desk, and other hotel ammenities, then you would be better served at their regular hotel. Just depends what experience you are looking for --- quiet apartment or warm hotel.

Thank you for taking the time to write about our new Condotti Palace Aparthotel. I confirm that there is no lobby but all of our guests are more than welcome to make use of the lobby and central reception desk at the Hotel Condotti, which are open 24 hours a day. Being new, there is still room for improvement and we are moving forward with the last few touch ups. We hope to create a nice roof top terrace which will not of course replace a lobby but we bill a nice common area for all guests.

Come back and try us again in the future!
