We stayed for 1 night in mid-September 2007 and had a very good experience at Soggiorno Europa. The reception desk was extemely helpful and very, very friendly.

The room was spacious and very nice for the relatively good price. It was a bit of a walk to the main sights... but if you are healthy and able, it's a very pleasant walk. Probably not for the injured or elderly though!

Great, affordable place to stay when visiting Rome.
Located on the 4th and 5th floor of an ancient building (elevator available).
Prices are fair, we paid 130 euro per night for an en-suite quad-room (also called family-room, for 4 persons).
Rooms are clean, light and cool, beds sleep well.
Staff is friendly and service-minded. Breakfast (included) is simple but sufficient.
There is a free Internet point in the lobby of the hotel.
The location is excellent, in the heart of the historical city centre. Nearly all main attractions are reachable by foot, even by me with my limp leg, a walk of max. 10 minutes.
Only St. Peter / Vatican-city / Castel Sant' Angelo and perhaps the Villa Borghese are further away, but very good reachable by one of the two reliable, cheap metro lines (nearest metro station Piazza Republica only a 5 minutes walk from the hotel).
There are a lot of (pizza-) restaurants, bars and shops in the direct surroundings of the hotel, in all price categories, from budget to expensive. If you come by car, there is a safe parking garage called "Tuttauto", again only a 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Costs 25 euro per car per day.
Be aware, if you come by car : as the hotel is located in the heart of Rome, it could be somewhat difficult to find, also due to the one-way-traffic that is all over the place in Rome.
If you choose for other means of transportation : Rome's main railway station (Termini) is only a few blocks away from the hotel. If that's too far for you : the streets are crowded with taxi's and buses....
Only found two (minor) items for improvement re. this hotel :
- Breakfast room is a bit small; sometimes you'll have to wait for 10-15 minutes before a table is available.
- In our room, the size of the shower was a bit small; corpulent persons could even find it impossible taking a shower with the curtain-door closed. Note : this remark is only valid for the shower, not for the entire bathroom, the bathroom is large enough.

Conclusion : I recommend this hotel to anyone who looks for a nice, clean hotel, at a reasonable price, in the centre of Rome.
