“not a "real" hostel... more like rooms in an appartment building”

The shower (there was only one for about 12-16 people) BARELY worked... it sprinkled, if that... and it was only one bathroom.... now a lot of the hostels in rome are appartments turned hostels, but these people didnt make much of an effort. it looks and feels like its not meant to be a hostel. I personally prefer hostels which are structured in a way which encourages you to meet other backpackers (i.e meals- central area, sofa etc) The "free internet" isnt just for the hostel.. the computers are in the laundromat where the hostel is run from... so it seems a bit disorganized. a free breakfast ticket is given to you for the next morning which is nice but you have to go find the cafe that you get it from (again... i prefer the hostel feeling.. where breakfast is offered in the common room..)
the beds are nice and comfortable. the rooms are very clean ( i stayed in the dorm) the dorm rooms are only four beds to a room. the hostel is well priced

extremely cool staff! have hardly ever experienced such helpful people working in a hostel! the location is good - really close to the main train statioin from where you can reach most of the main-attractions. the rooms and the bathroom are clean, and the whole hostel is really quiete. so when in rome.... stay at funny palace...

Great hostel, in a great location - easy to transfer from the termini station and the bus station. Small rooms make it easy to get to know people so great if you are travelling on your own like i did. It also means far less disturbance in the night or early morning. The staff are extreamly helpful if you need any advice on how to get to placesand good places to eat. A great place to stay!
