This is a beautiful hotel. The room accommodations are excellent. Our room was large, had a huge red marble bathroom with separate tub and shower, and a huge balcony with patio furniture and lounge chairs. However, everything else about this hotel was horrible. The check in took forever, the staff could care less; so expect customer no-service. The restaurant was pitiful. Not only did it take forever (and it was not even crowded), but we could not even eat it and went with out dinner that night since their were no other places in the vicinity to eat. This hotel is extremely isolated. When you get there, you are stuck without having a car. You have to book a seat on the shuttle in advance or you will be wait listed. So if you go, and I do not recommend it, be sure you book the shuttle when you check in. It is truly a shame that the management at this hotel could care less about its patrons. It is such a beautiful place, but everything else about it ... location, staff, food, and service are horrible!

This meets traditional Marriott standards for room size, service, ambience, friendliness. 5 Stars for that.

The hotel is about 10 miles from downtown and you need to reserve and take their shuttle. It drops you off near the Tiber on the Vatican side. Not expensive but if you go during rush hour, the trip may take 45-60 minutes. Same coming home.

An alternate is a cab which cost about 40-50 euro and really doesn't get you there all that much faster. It is not really near the train or the metro nor night clubs or restaurants. Essentially, I think it is a business hotel

A good Marriott hotel that meets their standards but a little out of the way for touring.

Hotel is not up to Marriott standards in quality of service even though they are a 4* hotel. The physical structure is new and pleasant. Prior to arrival, they promised help with a wheelchair and finding a local laundry. When we arrived the promiser was on vacation and we had no help for days. Finally a concierge gave assistance. They would not allow another guest to have a rollaway for his child even though he held a printed reservation in his hands stating so. Everyone was constantly charged for mini bar items they did not use, always someone at front desk complaining about this. Front desk gave different answers to same questions. Breakfast buffet had 45 minutes remaining yet cook flatly refused to refill numerous hot dishes, said he was too busy. In room phones were often inoperative. Car park valets are not available so you must park car yourself in lot which is 10 minute walk away. Luggage valets were rarely seen, we carried our own bags via hotel's cart. Hotel is 20-30 minutes outside Rome. Marriott bus has odd schedule and one drop off location. During our 7 day stay front desk could not exchange US$ or Traveller's Checks into Euro. They're not ready for prime time. Stay in town, not here.

Terrible location . Quirky rooms - OK if you like Baroque style with a modern twist . Only redeemed by above average service from staff and excellent icecream in lobby bar !!Dont know who designed the lobby but there last job must have been a warehouse or railway station .
