We stayed here for 3 nights (2 stays) in August as part of our tour through Italy. We always try to stay at Marriott as we're platinum.
First stay (2 nights) we did not get an upgrade at start as they said nothing is available (although their hotel website said differenty!). Then, after asking, the next day we got upgraded to a larger room that was a smoking room and had half of the furniture missing. The second stay (1 night) we got upgraded to a very nice room with balcony and big bathroom.
In executive lounge only italian papers, 1 slow computer and a non-working printer; after 2 times asking they did not fix still. We did not try to the outside swimming pool or the (large) internal fitness centre, but we found it a bit strange that you need to pay to use the inside swimming pool (which is part of the spa).
Breakfast was ok, although not that much choice for bread eaters. We did not have lunch or dinner at the hotel.
We normally always fill in the hotel evaluation card - so they can use this to improve - but there was none present in the room. When asked if they could bring one, the brought a 'linen changing card' to our room; then when asked at reception they said they dont have any at the reception. When I insisted they asked housekeeping to bring one, which I filled in at check out.
Pluspoints: very friendly parking guys, they actually gave me more tips about the area then the reception. Same for the business centre: very friendly staff.
Location
Location was ok if you have a car, but if not then I would not recommend the hotel. Shuttle bus about 8-10 euro pp retour and takes about 30-40 minutes to Rome centre. Nothing is in walking distance. We found some nice restaurants about 5-10 minutes driving away from hotel. Parking on-site about 8 euro per day. We paid about 120 euro per night.
