The IL Papavero is a lovely little hotel 10 min walk away from Roma Termini. It has rooms in two buildings and you would be better off taking rooms in the building which does not have the lobby as it is quieter. The room is very spacious and the upholstry is neat and regal. The room is actually one of several in an apartment complex but has a heater and a AC. But it really does not matter as you anyway end up spending most of your day exploring Rome. .You get a big bunch of keys to enter your room and that can become a bit cumbersome but you will get used to it. There are several dining options nearby and there is a supermarket 5 min away. The breakfast is at a small cafe across the street and is very basic inclusing only a coffee and crossiant. At the end of teh day, your stay at this hotel is value for money.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel was easy to find with the directions they provided on the hotel booking website. The room was as expected (clean, small, etc).

I was unfortunate to stay on the same floor as the hotel reception - there is always someone there, but because there is always someone there, I could hear them talking at all hours of the night. Due to that, I was not able to sleep soundly any of the nights.

However, generally I had a good experience - just make sure you ask for another floor if you do decide to stay there!

Good location with friendly staff. Very welcoming and informative recptionist, which we appreciated. Rooms are at a different entrance (but same building) than the reception, but that was not a problam. Good value for money.

the hotel was better than i expected for the amount we paid for it. it is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the termini and is in walking distance of historical monuments such as the collosseum and trevi fountain. the room was basic but plesant to stay in. the staff were all very very friendly people. if i was to go back to rome on a budget i would defeintly go back to the hotel papavero.
