This B&B was very close to the Vatican, and also very close to a “stop & go” bus stop (you buy a ticket for 12, 24, 36 hours etc. and can get on and off at any of 12 stops around the Rome attractions). The B&B itself does not have any parking available, there is a garage right next door but it will cost you 24 Euros a day (Roberto is the owner, very nice gentleman).
The B&B was only just acceptable, it wasn’t dirty but neither did we feel it was clean. It looked just like the pictures but much smaller (we stayed in the blue room). The bathroom was very small, the light switch is partially in the shower and the bathroom exhaust fan exhausts into the main room. The mattress on the bed needs to be replaced, we both kept rolling into the middle of the bed.
The breakfast part in Bed and Breakfast is a loose term in Italy apparently, our breakfast consisted of a pre-packaged croissant (one for each of us), some pre-packaged melba toast, fruit (that looked old), coffee, tea and juice. I didn’t expect a lot, but I did expect more.
The woman that run’s the B&B tried to be very helpful, but English is not her first language and it was sometimes hard to communicate.
You could open the window and lean out and watch the street life in the area. There are plenty of little restaurants and pizzerias in the area. There is one just around the corner and we could hear the laughter and somebody even started playing an accordion. The atmosphere of the distract was enthralling.
