Have just come back from a 4 day stay in this hotel in Rome, And we found It just as described by most previous members. The rooms are small but immaculate and modern, and it is obviously not long since it was decorated. It is 50 yards to the metro which we used twice to get back to the hotel. {1 euro gets you a ticket valid for 75 minutes, and I think you can travel as far as you lke within that time, and about 15 minutes walk to st peters square, where you can catch the audience most wednesdays at 11 am. Plenty of restaurants around for dinner within a reasonable walking distance . We used A-T-S via easyjet to book the transfers, and they found the hotel easy, but it is true that there are no signs to tell you what it is, just the number 207 above the door, which is of course the number of the street. Entry is gained by pressing the bell and speaking to reception who open the door by pressing a button, but that adds to the security of the place. No safes in the rooms, as claimed by the website, but they take your stuff off you and put it into theirs. not very convenient but it is there. Also there is very little chance of a courtesy room if you have a late departure, as they only have 10 rooms, and are usually fully booked. we did not leave till 6 pm, so had nowhere to wash or shower after a day in the centre. On the whole this is an excellent small hotel in a very good location, And we would definitely go back and consider it a very good choice.

This hotel is fantastic. Very clean, nicely decorated rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good location, only 15 minute walk from the Vatican. Although breakfast was not included, there was
a great cafe a few doors down which provided a nice breakfast. Good price too.

We stayed in the Comfort Inn for 4 nights and found the service to be very good. The hotel was exactly how it was described when we booked it - basic, but very clean. The people at reception were always very helpful and spoke very good english.

The only fault we found was that the area was not overly pleasant however, the hotel was only a 2 minute walk from the metro station so this was not a problem for us.

Overall we had a good stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a basic but cheap and clean place to stay while exploring the city.

This was a surprise trip to Rome for my wife for Valentines day. We stayed 3 nights at the 207 Comfort inn. I prebooked the transfer from Ciampino airport which was 50 Euros. A bit steep I thought but save the hassle of finding a taxi. To our dismay when we arrived there were posters saying the standard maximum fare was 30 Euros for official Rome taxis. The transfer was with a private company. So first piece of advice do not book the transfer with the hotel!

When we arrived its not very clear where the hotel is. Access is via a large door with 207 above it next door to a restaurant. Outside the hotel are market stalls. The hotel is situated on the first floor of an old building. We took the stairs as the lift looked quite old, but serviceable. The hotel takes up one floor which is basically an apartment refurbished into hotel rooms. It is VERY clean, we were impressed by how clean it was. There is always someone at the small reception and they speak english. We were in room no.1 which is the closest facing the street. See the photos, there is an excellent restaurant across the road to the left opposite the far yellow sign. Very warm and friendly, excellent food too.

There is road noise in the front facing rooms! If you are not used to it or a light sleeper ask for a room away from the street. We were that tired due to all the walking we did we slept well. The beds are medium to firm, comfortable but the pillows are naff. We asked for extra. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is very good. Like others have said imagine travel lodge but without the tea/coffee facilities. There is a mini bar but we never used it apart from storing our own water! There is NO breakfast either included. You can get one for 5 euros but we never tried, instead there is a cafe if you turn left, then left again on a corner which was excellent for breakfast.

The Vatican is literally 2 minutes walk round the corner, turn left when you leave the hotel then left again or you can go right then right. Also good access to tour buses, taxis, buses, the Metro (underground) and surface trams. We never used the transport as we prefer to walk. It took about 25 minutes walking back from the colleseum.

One further warning. Do not go to the restaurant situated under the hotel, immediate right out of the hotel door. The service was abysmal. It took us 40 minutes to order, and we had to ask the waitress. My starter turned up 15 minutes later, still no drinks, then the drinks turned up and 30 seconds later the main course turned up ! We sent it back. When it came after I had finished the starter it was undercooked and tasted awful. So we got up and left without paying and went back across the road over to the left at the restaurant we had been to before. There is also a restaurant round the back of the hotel a street over. Cant remember the name of it but there were yellow table cloths. The service there was impeccable.

If you are after a cheap, basic and very very clean hotel within minutes of the vatican and ideal for most attractions the 207 would fit the bill. If you like a bit of service and like your facilities look elsewhere. For us £61 per night for the room was a bargain!

Really enjoyed my stay at the 207. Very easy to book with Venere.Com. Hotel is easy to find by the Ottavanio metro. Staff very helpful and all spoke good English. Room small but stylish, new and clean. Very handy for St Peters and Vatican as well as the tour bus stops. No 81 bus to Colosseum. Plenty bars and cafe nearby.
