We were in Rome for the first time and were expecting to take some nice experiences with us ! Alas! The first worst experience was with this hotel First of all, the entire hotel itself is so clumsy that it's not worth paying even a penny. On the top of this, the hotel personnel (guy in the reception) was so rude and I should say that he's good for nothing ! There was another chinese guy in the evening who was very courteous towards us and he helped us in resolving some water & ac problems. Finally this hotel is a real waste of money!! Please do not prefer this - especially if you are having a family !

It was near the Termini, and transpo was easy.
It was not expensive, i would rather spend my euro on food, shopping and museums.
Room wasnt the most opulent but we were comfortable. But we only sleep and shower in the room anyway.
Hotel staff unobtrusive, fine with me.

Like others, I too checked at the rail termini for last minute accomodations and asked for medium price within walking distance. The agent suggested the Stromboli and it was easy to find, breakfast was adequate, and the staff were pleasant to me. Sure the rooms are small and could be noisy but I spent most of the time out of the room touring. I recommend it and would stay there again.

The worst hotel experience I've ever had! If you don't mind paying for a hotel room that you can NOT sleep in...this is the place for you! Arrived to a very hot, pre-paid room...was told that the air-conditioning could not be turned on until June 1st. Asked for a fan, they had none. Opened the ONE (screenless) window in the room, hoping for some cooler evening air. Went to
dinner...came back, no luck! We had to leave the window open that night in order to breath. The noisy brick street, busy with it's constant traffic, honking horns, motor scooters, tourist buses, police sirens, and then early morning delivery trucks with their aluminum doors sliding up and slamming down, made it impossible to drift off for any more than a few minutes at a time. Not to mention trying to sleep on now wet sheets from pools of sweat!
The next morning we all looked forward to a nice cool shower. We did not however, expect it to come from the wall mounted toilet tank above the commode, which sprayed you with a fine mist every time you flushed! Inside of the actual shower stall, the glass doors were lined with black mildew, and the shower door feel off into your hands every time you tried to open or close it. There were no washcloths, nothing but thin linen towels to dry with, and no mat to step out on.
When we went down for breakfast, (which was nice), we shared with the staff how miserable our night had been and asked that something be done about the temperature in our room before we returned that evening. After a long day of sightseeing, we came back to find that our room key didn't work, and we had to wait for a master key to be located to open our door...and...our room was as hot as ever! So, we took things into our own hands and were fortunate enough to find a store where we could purchase a fan. With an hour of cooler night air being pulled in from the outside, we closed the window to reduce the street noise, and did get "some" sleep that night with the oscillating fan running back and forth over the 3 of us all night long.
The sheets were clean but our son pushed his computer bag under the edge of his bed for the night and the next morning when he pulled it out, it was filthy with dust bunnies the size of Rhode Island attached to it.
We left the fan at the hotel, and told the front desk staff to keep it for the next guest. No one should have to pay to endure a miserable night as we did!
Not a chance for a recommendation from us for this hotel, other than, "RUN! DON'T WALK."
