We arrived after a red eye flight, exhausted to the Termini Train Station and were happy to find the location after about a 4 block walk, so we didnt need to pay for a taxi. The detailed map provided by the B&B after we booked our reservation, helped us find the discrete location. We buzzed up to the B&B and were quickly let in. Sara, greeted us at the bottom and placed our bags in the elevator so we didnt have to carry them up 2 flights of stairs.
Being only 95€, we were worried about the quality of the rooms but we were happy to find out that the room was very cute, had a fridge and a safe for us to keep our documents in while we were traveling around. Sara also showed us our bathroom, which was external to our room, but still only ours, and explained the rules for breakfast and how to get in and out of the building. She also gave us a wonderful map and told us how to use public transportation, which was completely manageable, safe and cheap, not to mention the bus lines stopped directly in front of the building. (I would totally recomend the Roma Pass) also, there was free internet right outside the rooms and a book self with several tour books and pleasure reading items. They also provide a phone that can be used for free when calling in Rome, good for making reservation, or that can be used with an international calling card.
The breakfast was impressive after hearing stories that it would be pretty skimpy. There was a buffet with american cereal and milk and juices. Once you sit in the little kitchen someone will bring you coffee or tea plus, yogurt, and breads with jam and butter. We felt we were provided with enough to keep us full until lunch!
I would like to mention that I felt very safe at the location. There was a gate to get into the complex, a key to get into our building, a key to get into the B&B and a key to get into our Room.
We would totally stay at Gullivars Place again if in Rome, we felt it was an excellent value, and not just your typical hotel experience. We interacted with other guests as well as the Italian staff and their adorable puppy Coco, (hes a maltese, so allergy friendly and only there occasionally!)
