Nov 12, 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

We stayed here for 2 nights in Nov 08 on a weekend trip to Rome.

We chose the hotel because we needed a triple room and when I did an internet search, it came up and had a great price and was in a very central location - we couldnt believe our luck!

It was ideal for the train station for getting to and from airport or other areas of Italy. And it was very easy to find on Via Viminale, right next to the Opera house. We were able to walk to the Colliseum in about 20 mins along interesting streets and the Nazionale Street is very close by. The Spanish Steps were about 20 mins away too but so much to see on the route there.

Checking in and out was easy and the best thing was that we could store our bags securely after checking out to explore the city further before leaving for the airport on our final day.

Our room was on the third floor was clean but small for the 3 of us but we didnt mind as we were only sleeping there and were out all day. We had twin beds and a sofabed. Perfectly comfortable.

Bathroom was nicer than expected but the water was only lukewarm the first morning but fine the second morning.

We didnt have the breakfast as we werent up in time but from the looks of things, we didnt miss much. We found some lovely cafe's very nearby to have breakfast.

If you are more interested in location than luxury or comfort, than this place is unbeatable value.

Although the hotel was in a pretty good area as far as getting around (close to the train station, the opera, and within walking distance of all the big sights) the hotel was pretty miserable. Rome was our third stop on a 2 week tour of Europe and although our room was pretty big, it had a pretty bad smell in it that didn't go away! Whenever we were in the room we had the window open trying to air it out and whatever air circulation contraption was thrown into the ceiling on trying to get the air moving, but the maids would shut the window and shut off the air so our room was smelly and stagnant when we got home at night. The shower curtain had mold growing on it and I was afraid to let it touch me. All the grout was cracked and there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling near the bed. There was no way to lock the door from the inside either. I do not think this hotel should have 3 stars. I also don't think they should be allowed to advertise a breakfast of any sort when all that is offered is cereal, one type of pastry, and a couple cold boiled eggs. What a nightmare!

Nov 5, 2008 | Trip type: Family

Me and my family spent there a full week in October. We stayed on the 3rd floor at room 326 with a nice view to the Opera and just a few minutes from Termini station. The good thing is the convenience it offers you to reach the sightseeings and that you can walk up and down Nazionale str. to browse in the stores. The room was ok, cleaned every day and the people were helpful enough.Saying this, the breakfast was HORRIBLE for the money you pay, there's no WIFI in the rooms and to get to the elevator you have to go two at a time. Overall I think is a good value for money 3 stars close to the heart of Rome but if you can, negotiate a price without the breakfast.

Needs lessons in customer service, day manager very rude, I slipped and fell on a wet floor (cleaning the entrance to dining room at breakfast time with no warning signs) was told to be more careful.
Breakfast - be down early or nothing left to eat or clean dishes, cutlery etc,
rooms - shower trays overfill and flood -
Beds -Comlfy , towels changed daily,
Not the worst hotel in Rome I guess but could do with sharpening up its customer service

  • Liked — clean and comfortable beds
  • Disliked — staff attitude - rude

We stayed there October 01 -05 on our 2 week tour of Europe.
Hotel is very small, as are the ROOMS, but they are very clean. the ELEVATOR fit maybe two people ,and very slow.
WATER PRESSURE - ok just be careful it switches from ice to scalding in seconds so be quick.
We had ROOM # 224. our view was nice it was the view of the opera house, i was glad i was on the 2nd floor because the little place is like a maze.
THE BREAKFEST in the morning is complete joke- accually its rather aweful. opt out of it if you can. the coffee is mud ,the cereal is stale , the milk is warm and yuk. i ate some sort or pumperknickle bread that i couldn't even burn the taste out.
THIS HOTEL is very close to every thing.
the Train Station and Subway stations are 5 minutes away
the subway at 1 euro for a trip will take you to all the attractions.
Colloseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps ,Vatican and St. Peters.etc...( MY FIRST TIME ON A SUBWAY- quick and cheap travel -awesome)
they have a lot of resturants to chose from around the hotel. ,we never ate at the same place twice and i am extremely picky. dont miss out on STREGA -that place is great , just right down the road just past the opera house, we found that the last night -luckily cuz i would have definatly ate there more than once.
COFFEE -i usually went to Mc Donalds -dont laugh it was the only drinkable one and it only cost 1 euro.
SOUVENIERS- the best places are the little shops around the hotel, and if your looking for FAKE / KNOCK OFF PURSES, They start telling you $60.00 euros - LOL you can get them for ten here and around all the attractions ,every where else like tuscany, florence and venice went to 20.00 euros.
WORDS OF ADVICE: don't take the tours, get there on your own you will see and find so many great little resturants ,gift shops and photo opts.
overall; nice hotel on a buget in a great location. front desk spoke english and very helpful- they give you a great map.
